2. No offense, but I just don't see the point
..of posting things like this. I'm not an Obama supporter by any means nor am I a Clinton supporter. But I just don't see the point of posting this taunting stuff from either side with no content or information. I don't think the whole process should be some kumbaya handholding thing and I definitely see the point in the rough and tumble as gearing up for the GE. But when people post stuff like this, what are they looking to accomplish? Because I'm pretty sure they're not going to convert any Obama supporters and speaking for someone who is not in either camp it pretty much turns me off the whole process.

This isn't the super bowl or world series we're talking about. It's the future of our country.

Don't mean to focus this on you because by all means it's everywhere. This one just seemed particularly glaring to me and I just don't get it.

9. You couldn't have said it better. The taunting and demonizing of
opposing candidates is really too much. The names and accusations thrown at fellow Democrats makes me wonder if Bush has entered our primary race and we are calling him out but calling him Clinton, Obama, or Edwards by mistake. (I do hope that some of the more extreme posters hold on to copies of their posts for use in the GE. They'll be able to substitute McCain, Romney, Huckabee for the Democrat they were originally blasting and not miss a beat. The vitriol will already be there.)

Some will say DU'ers are combative by nature. Clinton, Obama or Edwards are just the opponent of the moment, soon to be replaced with a truly hated Repub. I get that, but to call C/B/E crooks and liars is to use the same terminology previously reserved for Bush and his minions. The next time I see Bush call a criminal and liar, I'll have to check first whether I am in GD or wandered over to GDP and it isn't Bush but one of our candidates that's being slammed.

DU'ers seem to be tired of talking issues, so it's the "politics of personal destruction" that seems to be ruling the day. Perhaps this too shall pass. :)

3. Who knows?
The press corps is trying to drive the primary race as close to 50-50 as they can. And they'll try to drive the general election as close to 50-50 as they can, too.

Conflict sells more advertising.

Don't write Obama off yet -- or Edwards. Or, ever, since the so-called "fracture" in the Democratic Party will take between 5 and 10 days to heal and re-form into a political Stark Fist of Democratic Removal.
