Bill Clinton's Has A Seventy Five Percent Favorable Rating In South Carolina
"But the attacks have not dimmed admiration for Bill Clinton among the party faithful, with 75 percent saying they had a favorable view of him and only 20 percent holding an unfavorable view."

3. But, but - all this brilliant strategy of getting popular by bashing Clinton..
wait, bush tried that too!
Anyway, here it is outlined in case you missed it:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4185840
"Obama and his surrogates will operate under the assumption that the more aggressive Hillary Clinton campaigns, the more outbursts Bill Clinton has, the more voters in interior red and purple states will find the Clintons off-putting and that the negative feelings will obscure the Clinton mantra that only she (and he) can stand up and protect their interests.

15. I agree that Obama's campaign is probably guilty of wishful thinking
in their hopes that the Clintons' aggressive campaigning against him will generate bad feelings towards the Clintons. Aggressive campaigning always runs that risk, but Bill is much to smart of a campaigner to go far enough to make that happen. If any signs surface that it is time to moderate the attacks, Bill will be the first to detect it and will react accordingly.

That said, I don't see that Obama has much choice but pursue this strategy. There is no way that he (or any other candidate I can think of) can "out-Clinton" Clinton, so he might as well pursue a contrasting campaign style and hope it works. (Of course, he will be accused of being weak and not responding to attacks, but that is the way the game is played.) ;)

6. I honestly don't believe it. Each time the press says that "Democrats
love Bill Clinton" I think they are regressing back to the 90s.

We're tired of Clinton to the point of irritation.

"Come on, big dog!?! Get off of the national stage, you're embarrassing us." :(

12. We must live in different universes because, in all honesty, I just don't buy into these "claims
of "Clintonian Camelot."

Both Clintons are lightening rods for controversy and it's not all of the press corps invention.

They're like the relative that comes for 3 days and stays 3 months.

We're so f**king sick of "The Clintons" monopolizing both Our Democratic Party (Bill Clinton's DLC) and The Executive Branch (8 more years of a DLC Staffed Executive Branch).

More sliding to the right - TRIANGULATION. :(

You get the same right leaning policies with the added benefit of 24/7 scandal ... and no, nothing is "black and white" - The Clintons smarmy campaigning and Atwater tactics at dismissing dissent are being revealed DESPITE the corporate media often soft-pedaling and diluting ("it's both of their faults") these issues.

Alas, it's YOU (and far too many within Our Democratic Party) who is being PUNKED.

The Democratic Party will FRACTURE and fracture big should The Clintons DLC snag a third Dem Nomination for their masters. Many of the base would LEAVE the, then PROVEN - DLC led Democratic Party.

21. i havent seen it all, but what i have seen is Bill standing up to Fascist Media hatchet men who spin
blame on him to make Hillery look bad. I have seen him be a whole hell of a lot more polite to F'n Evil liars than they deserved, considering what they have done to him in order to destroy this country.

I have seen the media blane him and hillery with absolutely no evidence they had anything to do with the accusations. The media made up a brand new word to make their lies sound more credible.. "Surrogate".. he has the baby he's to blame..

i don't support Hillery, but i don't like the continuing bullshit that overthrew our country and hijacked our government.

i don't like everything Bill did, i'd like to slap him for NAFTA, but we did start to turn the corner. that is why they hate him so much, he showed us it could be done.

Fascism.. a philosophy or system of government that advocates or exercises a dictatorship of the extreme Right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with an ideology of belligerent nationalism.

so what part that do you not understand..??

all the TV media is owned by 4 Right Wing Corporations deregulated through campaign contributions, to a dictatorial political party, i consider the bribing of government.. merging. when the pharmaceutical corporations actually write legislation and hand it to congress ready to submit, and the Republican party votes in lock step to pass it when it is not in the best interest of the people who elected them.. that's Fascism.

do you think the invasion of Iraq was a result of Belligerent nationalism.

do you not think Bu$h is a dictator and the dictating party does 100% of what they are told..

so what part of Fascist dont you not understand

31. The Clintons have been working that state (and most others)

steadily since at least 1990. It seems reasonable to me that Democratic activists and influential people have had lots of time to form opinions and pass them on to younger groups. The favorable view of B. Clinton is not surprising, historically.

One of my reasons for supporting HRC IS the established working relationships--nationwide, worldwide.
