on speaking styles and candidates or and the winner is...
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 03:46 AM by whirlygigspin
is it just me?
or do many people chose candidates based on speaking style?

I've been trying to figure out what it is that I don't like about Obama, and I think it's because he seems very 'snooty' to me...always with the 'nose in the air' when he's talking

it's weird, I can't stand John Edwards constant tongue licking when he's talking

or Dennis Kucinich's 'screaming' style

I guess that leaves me with Hillary

I am/was a Biden supporter, so policy or experience doesn't make any difference to me now,
and no, I don't think any of them will be able to get much done, progressively

so if I had to chose in this 'horse show' now, I guess it would be Hillary, for simply speaking with no affectation.

I would think that anyone would sound good after years and years of the Bushliter. :)

4. i am agreed with you in that ...
edwards' tongue licking (kerry used to--or still does-- do the same, remember?) bothers me ... and his habit of speaking with what i can only describe as his tongue rolled up inside his mouth.

what you call "obama's nose in the air," his snootiness, you know, i call, his stuck up in the air derriere ... which, like you, i can't stand either ... but also his penchant for throwing low punches at hillary, then, when she clears the air, sometimes throwing punches (?) back at him, or just truth telling, he, like jr., comes out squealing like a rat claiming that he is being victimized. that is called the art of manipulation, it sounds and looks like the manneuvers of a twelve year old, as well those employed by addicts for the most part. i also think that, like bush, obama will say anything to get what he wants, then, when it comes to stand up for what he says, he runs, hides, and takes cover. the man is a snooty, snooty, being, whether you call it, "nose in the air", or i call it, "stuck up derriere" ... the man is as snooty as it can be.

and hillary, who is looking somewhat tired these days, and sounding somewhat hoarse ... is the clear headed one that i will give my vote to... no matter how much the obama campaign puts out there against her, no matter how much kerry wants to use swift boat tacticts against her, no matter how much morning joe, chris matthews, mika breszinsky, david shuster, wolf blitzer, suzanne malveaux and all the hide-the-truth, spin-and-sell media put out against her, i will vote for her, no matter how much poppy bush hates her and wants to see her fry in hell, i will vote for her. she is, in my view, the candidate with the mostest who can give the mostest to this nation which needs lots of showering of love, care and attention given to it these days.

5. My assistant has a different "take"
According to her:

"Hillary talks...the way...politicians talk...with that slow...staccato... cadence...they use...when they think...we're stupid."

"Obama talks like a minister preaching from the pulpit - glory halleluia, praise be. I hear the cadence of MLK when he speaks."

"Edwards talks like a normal person would if we were BSing on the street. He talks TO me, not AT me."

I can't honestly disagree with her.

              Edwards '08 tees!

6. Speaking style is all about personal taste, so it isn't too strange!
I don't much care for Edwards's style, but he's my favorite of the major candidates.
