From Kucinich in 2004 to Obama in 2008
I voted for Kucinich in 2004, and I've donated to Kucinich within the past year.

Until recently, I was planning to vote for Kucinich, again, to send a message for peace and civil liberties.

But after Kucinich said he'd consider Ron Paul for a VP, I felt that the message I'd be sending by voting for Kucinich would be less clear.

With Clinton and Obama both having reasonable chances of being the nominee, I decided to help choose between them. I trust Barack Obama more on civil liberties than I trust Hillary Clinton.

1. He is a civil rights attorney and lecturer in constitutional law, so you've made a wise choice.
Gobama!

2. Whoa! Someone provided a GOOD reason to vote for Obama!
Yes, he probably will focus more on protecting our civil liberties. That's the first good reason I've heard in months.

That won't change the fact that he's expressed disdain for universal health care, labor unions, trial lawyers, and anyone else who takes the side of the weak against the powerful, or the fact that he wants to keep US troops occupying Iraq until 2013 and beyond.

Thank you for reminding me that he's not a TOTAL scumbag!

7. I'm pro-trial lawyer and pro-union,
...and I hope Obama's remarks bashing trial lawyers and his campaign calling unions "special interests" doesn't reflect how Obama will govern if he becomes president.

Regarding universal health care, I don't agree with the Hillary Clinton approach of saying individuals will be forced to buy insurance and therefore everyone will have it. The blogger Atrios has written that everyone should just be signed up by the govt for insurance, and I agree with Atrios.

6. From Kucinich in '04 to....
Kucinich in '08.

I will not be voting for either HRC OR Obama. I frankly don't understand how anyone who supports DK on issues could even consider Obama, who I think would make a better republican than Democrat.

I don't understand it, but I respect your right to choose the course you think best. As for me,

DK will get my vote in my primary. I will write in a better Dem, or vote independent or 3rd party in the GE if worse or worst comes to worse.

11. Yeah, an offhand remark about Ron Paul should enable a homophobic campaign..
You know, Lincoln had a mixed cabinet.

Just saying.

12. The Donnie McClurkin invitation....
...was probably the low-point of the Obama 2008 campaign.

However, Obama spoke out against homophobia on Sunday:
