Booos or whooos?
I thought all the candidates did well last night, even Obama (second half, he kinda got pummelled first half, imho). But I am seeing references here and there to Clinton being booed when she brought up Rezko (sp?). I watched that part over and over again, and I do not think she was booed. That line came near the end of a tense exchange that was almost like a tennis grudge match, and the audience, as we were here, were pulled in. I did not think Hillary was going to come back with anything after the Wal Mart jab by Obama, but she did, and came back hard with Rezko. I let out a protracted whooooah at home when I heard it, and I thought I heard the audience react in a similar manner. It was like a boxing match, and one unexpected punch was met with another. I heard whoooo, not boo.

When people "boo," the pitch of the voice slides downward.

When people "Whooo," or especially "Whooa," the pitch generally slides upward.

Those were boos.

4. Except when cheering Daryl "Moose" Johnson
Except when cheering Daryl "Moose" Johnson of the Dallas Cowboys in the early nineties. Every time we let loose with the moose call, the play by play announcers would have to remind the out of state television audiences that is was a cheer, or else they'd've thought it was the Dallas fans eating their own...

5. The AP, NYT, CNN, etc. heard "boos"...
Or as the NYT reported, "jeers".

I agree with them.
