I guess it'll take some time. But I agree that it should be the next focus for the dems - winning back the house. And that's where the disenfranchised folks could channel their energy right now - for this election - then everybody wins. I think Dean agrees with me.

9. It does not affect.

They are different races with different implications. He is a perfect fit for a senator, but a terrible fit for president (I don't mean this in a bad way).

11. I think Dennis needs one more step up the ladder

As things stand currently, I don't think realistically Dennis can get elected Speaker of the House. If he "can't even" finish a close second in his home state of Ohio in the primary, he won't be taken seriously for a National leadership post in the Party yet.

Either the Senate or Governor would be a career and influence move up, showing his ability to win outside of his home Congressional district. He can keep building from there or choose to go the Jessie Jackson route of being an influential party activist. But as things stand, the Speakership is out of reach for now methinks.
