1. Fuckin' A.
Although I thought Clinton did OK. She looked great. Obama was a jagoff as usual.

7. But Edwards--finally forcing the M$M to notice him. :)
What makes you say Obama was a "jagoff" ? (Not sure what that means)

I thought he looked weak.

10. I agree that Edwards was a strong first.
I thought Clinton held and looked fine. I think she probably would have preferred a less acrimonious exchange, especially at the first half, but she refused to take shit or be cowed, and that probably will help her in the long view. Obama came off as peeved, unsure, unsteady and...worst of all, boring.

I've noted that Edwards won the audience across America, but Clinton came in a solid second. Obama lost the people sitting at home. He had the most supporters IN THE ROOM, so he "won" that, but it didn't translate well at all. When his cheerleaders started booing, the PEOPLE METER results for Clinton started going up--in sympathy, perhaps? And Obama's stayed flat right about fifty (which is 'neutral;). His people meter figures were not impressive.

29. What were the policy planks Hillary stated that you thought made her
a solid second. I was also puzzled by Jim Sagle's assertion that she did OK.

I mean I did't, couldn't hear their speeches, but I haven't noticed Hillary articulating any policies to help the American people, rather than the corporatocracy. As a DINO, doesn't she effectively tout "trickle down" economics.

30. The transcript is online if you want to pick the candidates' statements apart. My
take on who took first, second and third had to do with the Big Picture, AND the 'people meter' results.

Regardless of how those people with their people meters SAID they'd vote, their little people meters showed them reacting MOST favorably to Edwards, quite favorably to Clinton, and Obama had a hard time geting off "neutral"--except when he made the odd joke. When he went into religion, he dipped down below the neutral line.

If you actually believe that "DINO" bullshit about her, I just can't help you. After all, the right wing paints her as a rabid left Trotskyite. She's pragmatically progressive, which is too left for the right and too right for the left.

FWIW, 'Trickle Down' was a Reagan philosophy. I rather doubt a "Trickle Down" advocate would earn a Farmworker's Union endorsement, do you?

34. Indeed, I do! Are you not aware that country people have historically
been the most conservative of all sections of the "non-monied" population? Never mind that, despite Marx's prediction, the revolution in Russia began with them, and not the city-dwellers. Perhaps their serfdom was too fresh in their memories. I doubt, in the old days, if they had much choice, in any case. The gentry had virtually feudal power over them.

A man I worked with in a water-softening plant in a rural town called Frimley (totally money mad, incidentally, and I'm sure a Conservative) came from a large family, whose parents naturally struggled to make ends meet; yet, it was expected that they give half the pig they reared to their local squire/landlord.

37. The Farmworkers are principally Hispanic and they are highly
"activated" in the sense that they will advocate vociferously for the things that are important to them. Their agenda dovetails with the candidate they support, and it's the SOCIAL agenda aspect as well as the economic issues that resonate with them.

Hillary is no pushover that's for sure, Obama looked a little weak. Obama unfortunately, never gave an answer as to why he voted "present" so many times.

15. Obama gave many many poor responses.
One that pops, is how he would get the money for that international financing plan. Extremely non factual poor response.

14. He was at his best.
He stayed above the fray, yet asked some tough questions of Clinton and Obama. Would Hillary have lobbyists in her White House? This is exactly the kind of questions he needs to ask to differentiate. She couldn't answer it.

16. There has never been a moment
when Edwards wasn't head and shoulders above the competition. I have just wondered how long it wouuld take for people in a trance to wake up and notice.

A shout out to all my Edwards people who know quality when they see and hear it, and have STEADFSTLY refused to take the BLUE pill and stay in the M$M "Matrix". Maybe soon we can hope that the truth of idol worship winds down soon, and issues take center stage, as Edwards insists!

Go John Go!
