If they aren't voting because they think absentee ballots are a pain to obtain...

Tell them to go to www.democratsabroad.org - sign up before JANUARY 31st to register to vote in the first online primary!!

14. This software had SERIOUS problems in England....
Before everyone BLINDLY jumps on board, please read the report of the 2007 trial in Swindon, U.K.

http://www.everyonecounts.com/index.php/swindon_election

Here is the BBC report:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6623801.stm

"In Swindon, organisers were forced to recount every e-vote after polling
stations reported problems."

Here is the official report from the U.K. electoral commission:

http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/files/dms/Keyfindingsandrecommendationssummarypaper_27191-20111__E__N__S__W__.pdf

"Electronic polling stations in Swindon proved more problematic, with many
experiencing connectivity and application issues on polling day."

"The Commission recommends that no further e-voting is undertaken until the
following four elements are in place:
• There must be a comprehensive electoral modernisation strategy outlining how
transparency, public trust and cost effectiveness can be achieved.
• A central process must be implemented to ensure that sufficiently secure and
transparent e-voting solutions that have been tested and approved can be
selected by local authorities.
• Sufficient time must be allocated for planning e-voting pilots.
• Individual registration must be implemented.
The Commission cannot support any further e-voting in the absence of a framework
incorporating these recommendations."

6. Rules say you are to either vote in Democrats abroad or
our home state. We choose our home state.

8. And you are certainly free to do so
:hi:

The late DA deadline offers those who live abroad a chance to still vote, while most states require 30 days (at least) to get paperwork in for an absentee ballot.

10. Our home state automatically sends our ballots
without prior approval. We are on a list of residents permamently abroad. We have been told by Democrats Abroad our one vote would have more influence on the outcome . Guess their reasoning had to do with a smaller voting base. ?

11. thanks to YOU!
According to an article I recently saw, there are approx. 7mil Dems Abroad, and we constitute a "state" larger than Massachusetts. We'll send 22 delegates to the Denver convention.
