Obama yips at the Big Dog
http://www.taylormarsh.com/

"Bill Clinton laid it out there for him and Obama just lapped it up.

His remarks are "troubling," according to Mr. Obama, but likely only for the candidate himself.

There are several problems with Obama "calling out" Bill Clinton, as some have put it. First, Obama will be fighting on Bill's turf, because Obama's anti war credentials begin with talk and a good anti war speech in 2002, but that's pretty much where it stayed from then on. What Bill Clinton has been saying about Obama's Iraq war record, post that speech, also has the virtue of being true. Obama has to explain why he was against the war but funded it throughout his Senate term, plus stood up and pushed back against John Kerry's amendment for a timely withdrawal, which puts him standing beside Hillary. That Obama's votes are exactly the same as Clinton's on Iraq, except for her vote against Casey for Secretary of the Army, is the foundation for the "fairy tale," as Bill Clinton calls it, myth of Obama's anti Iraq war credentials being strong beyond talk after 2002".

19. you don't have much of a sense of history and you certainly
don't know much about it. Win or lose, Obama will remain a leading figure in the dem party and loom large on the media screen. He'll be seen as the presumptive dem frontrunner whatever happens. Your candidate? Not so much. Maybe he can put his energy where his mouth is and actually do something with the anti-poverty institute he set up, or he can always go back to work for a hedge fund. It's his 15 minutes that are up.

4. Obama is playing the race card. He has to make that voting block in SC angry at Clinton
so he actually got on TV and called Clinton a liar. But, it was done after Kennedy told Clinton to back off. It is a planned attack--politically motivated. To keep Bill silent, to keep the black voting block angry at Clinton.

17. If the left defeats Hillary and Obama loses to the GOP Slime
Machine we'll always have 2012 or 2016 to try again. Are you tired of losing? Do you really want to win in November? Then lets not take a gamble.

You all remember an old game show called, "Let's Make a Deal?" Obama reminds me of that show. America has a choice between the team that beat the Fascist dogs twice,(war heroes both) OR they can have what's behind Door Number Two. If you remember this show, sometimes the surprise behind the door was a new car but sometimes there'd be a goat or maybe a pile of bricks or 20 gallons of milk.

Obama certainly may turn out to be the brand new car we hope he'll be,but what if he turns out to be a goat? Are we a nation of high stakes gamblers? Are we willing to bet our future on what's behind Door Number Two?

Lets end this losing crap and take back the presidency for the good of the american people.

21. Obama's wounds are self-inflicted ... simply not enough experience
on what to say and what not to say and when to say it. He is running not just for president of USA, but for the most powerful position in the world -- every word a viable candidate speaks and every action a viable candidate takes (or doesn't take) will be dissected under an electron microscope. The pressure is enormous and only the broadest of shoulders and the sharpest of minds can withstand it. To make matters worse, both Hillary and Barak will be/are held to a higher standard than their predecessor making the burden that much greater.

Obama's oratory skills are indeed exceptional, but his message of hope is appealing if and only if you are NOT one of those suffering from the inequalities of -- the working poor, the jobless, the uninsured, the single moms, the GLBT community -- they want and need more than rhetoric. His campaign should have shifted from inspirational words to actionable proposals sooner.
Obama, through either poor advice or through his own lack of judgment and unfortunate choice of words has managed to create divisions where none existed before -- he has offend a whole generation via his negative baby boomer comments, and adulation for Reagan. His overall message plays short shrift to the elderly by emphasizing youth in the age spectrum. As I said it isn't easy -- A politician walks a fine line that most couldn't hold a pencil to.

But Obama's biggest mistake was his delay in putting out the fires that have erupted during the course of the campaign. Obama, and Obama alone had the power to put out the racist fire that is seemingly out of control. Where this bald-faced lie that the Clinton's are racist began is of little consequence but in all likelihood it was a Rovian plant -- ie. the party with the most to gain from the destruction it would inevitably bring in the long term. Anyone (including the independents) who was not in a coma the past 20 years know the facts about the Clintons -- and the facts say just the opposite. By not speaking directly and firmly to the lie, Obama was and IS perceived to have done nothing but fan the flames of a nasty lie. What would have been truly impressive and statesman-like was for Obama to use his great oratory skills to douse the flames of that ugly lie. He had the power to unite in the palm of his hand and he didn't use it. In fact some will argue that he abused it by purposely withholding commentary, allowing the fire to rage out of control. For that, he shall reap some short term gain and should win handily in SC but that's where his victories will likely end. By not acting, by not speaking out against the lie, he has lost the trust of the larger community and with it the power that might have propelled him to a victory in 2008, and further, he risks tarnishing a second run at the presidency in 2016 -- when he is older, wiser, more confident and ready to use his strengths, his powers in a more timely and positive manner.

Is Hillary perfect. No! ... not at all, who is??? but Americans know her imperfections, admire her strength, respect the breadth of her experience and intellect, and most importantly trust that if elected, she will use her power wisely and to the benefit of all. To be sure, if there was a gender war erupting in America, Hillary would be the first to throw a bucket of water on the flames.

Of course all of the above is a Canadian point of view that is of little value to most Americans (even at our current exchange rates but I offer it up because I do care about America and do care what direction it takes because we know only to well how small and precious this planet is, and most of us inhabitants do regard the office of the President of the USA as the most powerful position in the world.

The Clintons are both deeply adored and respected in Canada, not because they are powerful but because they have always used their power wisely, and we (even your neighbours to the north) have all benefited from their lifes' work and commitment.
