Obama defenders: not everyone upset with Obama is a Clinton supporter.
Edited on Sun Jan-20-08 10:49 PM by Heaven and Earth
When McClurkin and Caldwell get brought up, the response invariably is, "Hillary prays with homophobes." or "Hillary has anti-gay endorsers" or "Hillary's husband signed DOMA and instituted DADT." Has it ever occurred to any of you that that response doesn't answer the objections of people WHO DON'T SUPPORT CLINTON!?!?!

3. Heh, I was once accused of being a Hillary supporter...
these homophobic fuckers just don't get it, its all about them, and their supposed opposition(Hillarites), I don't give a shit about Hillary, no more so than Obama. Both pander to homophobes.

10. My first thought was that you were trying to make some kind of bad pun about jock straps.
My second thought is that you were trying to say that most DUers were Clintonians, which can't be right because most polls show Edwards and Kucinich dominating.

So you tell me, what the heck are you trying to say?

are really all bad. The mcclurkin stunt in South Carolina was stupid, imo, but they didn't ask me.

11. If you aren't defending Obama over McClurkin/Caldwell, I'm not talking about you.
Nor did I say that the ones who are defending him are "all bad." Go back and try again.

9. I would also like to report that not everyone against Hillary is an Obama supporter.
At this point, Edwards still has my vote, but I admit that I have been drawn into supporting Obama over Clinton here on DU because that's where the real fight is I'm afraid.

20. Why aren't the Obama supporters now Edwards supporters?
Obama supporters say they want a progressive candidate. Now that Obama has been shown to be decidedly un-progressive, why don't his supporters throw their support to Edwards?

If the whole point is defeating Hillary, think of the avalanche that would ensue if Obama and Edwards supporters teamed up in support of the most progressive candidate in the field - Edwards?

asked Caldwell to come to SC or is including him in events down there?

The outrage is premature.

But going on past experience, MCcklurkin was only suppose to sing and ended up Emceeing!

So I will wait to see what happens. Maybe you will be right this time, we will see.

33. They've been officially involved with him since July '07.

He was invited on the S.C. and there's no reason to disbelieve his statement of future involvement.

Is it fair to use this issue to only pick on Obama when both HRC and Edwards are not perfect on gay issues either?

25. We've all pointed out that they don't have good positions on marriage,
that Hillary didn't take a stand against DOMA, etc. It's only that Obama's offenses are current and repeated, and piled on top of a track record no better than theirs, that should and does draw criticism.

34. Clinton's and Edwards' positions are also current.
Either Clinton and Edwards currently oppose gay marriage or they don't, and the fact is that they do.
Their poor record on gay rights is no less current than Obama's record.

You gotta be shittin me... you can't honestly believe that.

People here are sharing opinions. If you think the posts on DU are part of some campaign strategy... I just don't even know what to say...

29. lol, they think they're destroying Obama
You gotta be shittin me if you don't think there are people here who are planting talking points and attempting to move opinion. People on this board go off into the community and talk. They go to Dem Club meetings and supporter meetings. Don't people at your Dem Club bring internet items to the meetings? Mine does.

32. I don't support either one, so any negative remarks I make about
either is because they are status quo with a twist of extra education that didn't amount to a 'gentleman's C'. I also believe that Obama is a religious zealot and HRC is a corporate pig.
