Atlanta, GA (BlackNews.com) - The celebrities turned out in full force to celebrate the Honorable Andrew Young's 75th birthday on Sunday, May 6th in Atlanta. Family and friends of the Civil Rights Leader and former Mayor of Atlanta, came together to honor his life, love and ministry that has been shared unselfishly over the years.

Amongst those invited to this prestigious affair was Zomba gospel recording artist, Donnie McClurkin. McClurkin shared the stage with Former President, Bill Clinton; The Honorable Mayor Shirley Franklin; Dr. Maya Angelou; actress Angela Bassett; Jane Fonda; comedian, Chris Tucker; Premier Michael Misick (Turks & Caicos) and a host of others. The entertainment for the star-studded event ranged from singing, dancing, comedy and the spoken word.

The event was designed to raise funds for the Andrew Young Foundation , which support and promote education, health, leadership and human rights in the United States, Africa and the Caribbean. The foundation also develops global institutions and leaders with capacity and knowledge to improve and enhance social and economic justice and human rights through faith, non-violent actions. Benefactors of the foundation are Clark Atlanta University and Jean Childs Young Middle School.
