Yes, it can get wacky and even fiery at times, but DU has a lot of features to help you customize it. You can ignore people and you don't see their threads anymore. This is good if you think one Duer only posts flamebait threads or whatever.

Another thing, if you don't want to use ignore you can just x out the threads you don't like and you don't see them anymore.

This forum can be customized to your liking and is usually a lot of fun. Just don't take it too seriously.
