A full 30 minutes before they were supposed to be closed.

How, oh how, can you still support this campaign? What do they have to do to make you see the shit?

EDIT:

8. Good grief
you make such intelligent, thoughtful comments.
Election fraud has to be taken seriously, otherwise why bother to vote.

18. Can you prove...
that everything was above board.

Claims should be considered, evidence should be carefully examined.
If strong-arming is going on - by either side - it should be stopped.
Did not Bill Clinton also claim to seeing "cheating in front of his eyes".
But since they won, I guess he's allowed to say that - and losers are not allowed to say what they saw.

24. I have not said anything was true or false.
I just said that statements should be carefully considered from both sides, and verified as factual or not.
Is this not what America is all about.
Pre-judging as a sore-loser, on either side, is not appropriate.

12. That would just be one caucus, right? This seems to be official Clinton intstructions for all.
Are you open to a rational discussion or should we just write you off as one of the many people here that CAN NOT be rational during the primaries.

I am serious. I am making a list of people on the other side that can actually be talked to to find common ground. Are you open to a logical discussion or not? I will not bother you ever again if you choose to say "no" to this.

16. No. If you look closer, it says:
Page 7, under "Inside the Room", it says:

"Caucus Chair closes doors and announces attendance"

I think that's it.

29. Let me chime in here, if I may. The Caucus itself was to be called to order at 11:30
and not before. The Viability Process was to start at 12:00 and not before.

As volunteers for the Party -- we were reminded that we are not the Party of exclusion -- and that anyone standing in line after the caucus was called to order would be allowed in and be able to participate.

I can only attest to our precinct caucus -- but this was also discussed during training of a roomful of Party volunteers in preparation for the caucuses.

In our case, the Chair called the meeting to order, explained that we had a huge line outside, discussed how we want "our brothers and sisters -- our neighbors -- to come in from the cold and be allowed to participate..." and by unanimous "ayes" and cheering and clapping all agreed and waited patiently for the line to file in. No way would we have allowed anyone to shut the doors on those people.

The Hillary Guide is not the official form for running the caucuses -- the Dem Party Guide should stand as the official guide and should've been the one followed.

Now, if a Hillary supporter happened to also be the Chair of the Caucus, and closed the door on people who were standing in line by 11:30, then, I would say that anyone who was in line by 11:30 but was not allowed to go in should definitely call their Party HQ's and complain loudly. Same goes for if the Chair were an Obama supporter, Edwards supporter, etc.

These Hillary Caucus guides appear to be designed for GOTVing the Caucus and for their people only.

We worked hard to ensure that we were following the rules correctly and fairly in a process that was new to us. As a volunteer for the Dem Party, I for one am there for all the candidates -- not just my favorite(s).

30. Was she in line by 11:30?
If so, and she wasn't let in, she needs to call her local Democratic Party and complain -- and not just to the person ansering the phone -- she needs to ask for the party Chair. Make sure she knows her precinct number before she calls - the Chair can find out who was chairing that caucus site.

11. If I'm reading correctly, it doesn't instruct Hillary's people to close the doors at 11:30
it says that the Caucus Chair will close the door because that's when registration ends. (I'm not sure on all the roles, but would the Caucus Chair be someone necessarily affiliated with a campaign, or just the person who's generally in charge? I really don't know any of the rules of the caucus, just what I'm reading in the manual.)

19. On second thought, maybe you are right about that.
Good point.

IIt could just be a mistake and the Hillary campaign is merely telling people that that is what will happen.

28. My city committee meets every year to caucus and elect
members to go to the convention. We close a 10:00 am and no one is allowed in to caucus after that. It is the way its done most likely everywhere.

33. Speaking as a Nevada permanent chair, site coordinater, and caucus trainer
The Hillary people had it wrong. But they weren't running the caucuses. The party had its own trained people running the caucuses. The Hillary campaign wasn't running the caucus. All 6 of the precincts I ran closed the doors at noon like they were supposed to, so I don't know what exactly your talking about. Mind you, the meetings were is called to order at 11:30, but only to resolve bookkeeping issues. The caucus process started at noon.

This looks like a typo, not some grand malevolent act. Because they weren't running the caucuses, worst case scenario, all this would have done is make the Hillary people show up early.

36. It goes against my instinct to defend Hillary
being an Edwards supporter and all, but speaking with a ground zero point of view, I can't see this as intentional.

The national campaigns were unbelievably confused regarding our procedures across the board. We had campaign people who were told to show up 7:30 in the morning on caucus day, despite the fact that the doors opened up at 11:00. People were told they were precinct leaders for their candidate and never had it explained that it doesn't mean they are chairing the meeting, only that they are the head volunteer for their candidate. People thought they were allowed to decorate the public spaces we were using, only they weren't allowed to do so. The national campaigns had our process wrong across the board.

That said if people were turned away on caucus day before noon, I can't imagine it being more than isolated statistically insignificant incidents. The party had its people running the meetings, not the Hillary people, so any damage that this confusion would have done would be minimal. This looks like just a mistake.
