Hillary Clinton won, Barack Obama lost, its that simple.
We all know right now delegates are really not what is important. It is the press and the headlines that matters here, and Hillary won the caucus because she had more support in Nevada, that simple.

Id like to offer my own congratulations to the Clinton supporters who have shown the decency to not become sore winners. REally I congratulate all of you except for maybe 1 or 2 DUers. I know we've had our strong disagreements over the past 48 hours, but I just want to say congrats on a good victory and its off to South Carolina, may the best candidate win.

1. Thanks to a sane and gracious Obama supporter
I don't support either Clinton or Obama, but this is a refreshing post, given all the Obama "we won Nevada! No really!" posts.

45. I admit, I was floored to see an Obama bumpersticker by the posters name
Most Obama supporters (or at least the most vocal ones on this board ) tend to react to every setback with hysterical, vicious, attacks. This is quite refreshing.

16. That isnt true though
She had the Vegan Sun. He had a conservative rag and Reno. but she had the influential newspaper. Though Iowa may have proven that those papers dont mean a thing.

21. Reno journal Gazette is bigger than the Las Vegan Sun?
I dont know, I'm asking. And again, the Review Journal is a big time conservative rag that in its endorsement shat on Obama, but shat on Hillary just a little more.

26. The Sun is only mildly more "liberal" but it is also only a "supplement" to the RJ now...
The RJ prints both papers and the Sun is just a "section" in the RJ on weekends now...it was in danger of folding entirely a few years back if not for this "arrangement"...

the RJ never met a repuke and right wing asshole it didn't like - STRONG "WAR Criminal" supporter...

Even tho the Sun's Owner Brian Greenspun says he's a repuke - he's a strong supporter of the Clintons and Democratic causes - go figure...

Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 08:16 PM by jackson_dem
Or maybe it said it was the paper for the second largest city. I don't remember for sure. What is clear is Obama had the backing of most newspapers and had a rapid-fire of establishment endorsements come to him after New Hampshire, including Kerry.

For once I caught it in time!

But now I can't remember what the poster exactly said - all of their 6 posts before they went "poof"!

Needless to say it was argumentative and not very good - but I don't remember thinking that it was particularly offensive - must have been deleted for something ELSE said down thread...

12. No he will not, and hed do himself better not to do so.
Id agree with you on Feb 5th, that delegates are more important, but in these early races, its all about momentum taking you into Feb 5th. Even though he may have won more delegates, she has the MO, though I think it will stop in SC.

8. Thanks hnmnf, it's very gracious of you to say that
not just to realize it, but to say it. Yes, she won, and the media is going to count it as a win, and it's the momentum that matters at this point.

Besides, I think most considered that Hillary had come in third in Iowa, even though she technically had one more delegate than Edwards.

Right now, it seems to be saying that Obama won. The current theme that were watching now, is that Obama won the most delegates.

You have to admit this throws a severe kink in Hillary's celebration festivities,
and is likely to diminish any Momentum she might have gained.

This delegate count is what people will be talking about because it is an oddity.
