Will John Edwards risk the embarrassment of getting crushed at his birthplace SC?
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 06:11 PM by 2rth2pwr
From his website- "John is a self-made man who was born in Seneca, South Carolina and raised in Robbins, North Carolina, a small town in the Piedmont."
http://www.johnedwards.com/about/john/

Some have said that he did not run for reelection as a Senator because the numbers were not there for him.

Will he or won't he stick it out through South Carolina?

Will he endorse Hillary or Barack?

on edit- 2 s's in embarrassment.

2. He will stick it out even if he is demolished.
However his relevance might sink down to the level of Dennis Kucinich if he keeps losing big.

at least through SC. The message needs to be heard. If people don't accept it... wouldn't be the first time in history...

13. Yes
He has nothing else to do. He raised a lot of money yesterday, he can stay in easily.

He can still win delegates in other states.

I think he is betting that Hillary won't win enough delegates for the nomination so he can play king/queen maker at the convention. Maybe even get the V.P. spot.

I wish he would drop out and let Obama v. Clinton thing play itself out but I don't see it happening.

7. I think the tone of this post is really uncalled for
Edwards supporters are understandably disappointed about the Nevada results, and phrasing things in this way at this time amounts to grinding their faces in the dirt.

I like to think that we're better than this.

11. Speaking up for what you believe in used to be referred to as COURAGEOUS.
"Some have said" sounds much more like an embarrassing statement to me.

One should NEVER be embarassed to stand up for what they believe is the right thing to do.

12. John is a big guy. He's strong. Embarrassment is nothing to him.
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 06:17 PM by AndyA
And why be embarrassed? It's the people who've voted so far that should be embarrassed.

Why, you'd think things here on Lollipop Lane, Anytown, USA had been just peachy keen, jelly bean these last 7 years.

In reality, people FEAR CHANGE. It takes GUTS to face an unknown factor and decide that change is better than more of the same.

Americans have become lazy, complacent people. They are letting the corporate owned, self-serving media elect our representatives for us. And those who allow this deserve what they get, but the rest of us DO NOT deserve to put up with second rate abusive representation because the American public at large is to lazy/stupid/__________________ to see the big picture.

After all, what the hell, if Katie Couric likes Huckabee, so should the rest of us, right?

17. Did you see the press release?
EDWARDS CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON NEVADA CAUCUS RESULTS

Chapel Hill, North Carolina – John Edwards for President campaign manager, former Congressman David Bonior, released the following statement about today’s Nevada caucus results.

“Congratulations to Senator Clinton for her win in Nevada. Our campaign is very grateful to all those who demonstrated the loyalty and dedication to stand up for John Edwards in the face of very difficult circumstances and long odds, including our brothers and sisters in Nevada from the Carpenters, Steelworkers, Transport Workers, and Communications Workers of America.

“John Edwards is the underdog in this campaign, facing two $100 million candidates. But that is nothing compared to the real underdogs in our country – working men and women, middle class families, and all those who have no voice in Washington.

“John Edwards is in this race to fight for the real underdogs and to make sure the voices of the American people are heard in Washington, not the special interests. That’s why he’s the only candidate in this race who has never taken a dime from PACs or Washington lobbyists; the only candidate who will ban corporate lobbyists from his White House; and the only candidate who is honest enough to say we are in a fight for our country and we need to take on the special interests if we are going to have a country that works for hard-working families and the middle class.

“The race to the nomination is a marathon and not a sprint, and we’re committed to making sure the voices of all the voters in the remaining 47 states are heard. The nomination won’t be decided by win-loss records, but by delegates, and we’re ready to fight for every delegate. Saving the middle class is going to be an epic battle, and that’s a fight John Edwards is ready for.”
