Nevada Caucus Report: Massive Turnout, looked like a new york city mayor's election
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/19/1762/91292/765/439614

I was a precicnt captain in Henderson. here are my thoughts take them FWIW.

Tournout was massive, no one expected anything like this. Both Hillary and Obama got out every last vote.

We have a big big problem as a party. this is breaking down so overwhelmingly along racial/age differences it's scary. In my middle school it looked like a NYC mayors election with hispanics and older white women for Hillary and young/black voters for Obama.

The Hillary people were acting like she would be our inevitable nominee, pleading for "unity" in November. about half of the Obama people told me they would never support her, EVER. they were mostly back voters.

1. We have a short term problem.
The older crowd's time is more limited.

4. Speak for yourself -
Both of my parents will be voting this year - they are in their 90s.

I am going to be around for a long while to bug you. Too bad.

2. Most of the white voters I know won't support her either.

It's just the way it is. She's divisive, and brings a world of baggage with her.

When it comes down to it. People will support Obama, if he's the nominee - but a great many, independents included, won't support HRC.

ETA: The divisiveness may/may not be her doing. But the divisive split comes packed in her bags - so to speak.

5. However this turns out
Hillary and Obama (and all us supporters) are gonna

it festers and grows. not good. and even if hillary were to win, it's not good if a group of people feel that way.

if she wins. it's not a good feeling to feel that the person who won doesn't give a crap. and she does, so it would be sad if that's the way people felt.

10. It's good that people are showing up...
in record numbers, it's fine that voting is breaking down along racial lines, it's too bad that the 'inevitable' strategy is back, and it's sad that black voters are hating hillary. :(. that last part makes me really sad. i don't want any race having to feel resentful.

15. This is why I am increasingly thinking both need to be on the ticket
These primaries are dividing us in a decisive way that is very much unhealthy, going into the GE.
