Why did Hillary only beat Obama by 6%?
I recall Hillary being up by about 20% or more. What happened?

13. Movements need victories
Movements need victories. This is 2 losses in a row now for Obama. Losing by 2 or losing by 6 is still a loss. Obama's whole campaign was predicated on winning Iowa, slingshotting into New Hampshire and winning there. That's fallen apart.

And actually a 6 point win is pretty impressive.

That was the media spin on Obama's plan
Hillary took Nevada because of the Reid influence over the state and because of the casino's determination she would take it.

This election is really telling Democrats a lot about the true character of its major players. Not that long ago on this website, people were recoiling against the Dems supporting that resolution Bush requested regarding preemptive war on Iraq. Not that long ago on this website, people were recoiling against the Dems who refused to stand up to Bush* and confront him for his war mongering. In retrospect, as the players now openly fall in line behind their candidates, it's very easy to see why each of these politicians played their hands as they did, while giving lip service only to the cries of the base.

It's a familiar inside-the-Beltway refrain when truly taking the measure of a politician, don't listen to what he or she says, watch what he or she does.

If there's one excellent lesson to be absorbed as this campaign unfolds, it is that of remembering what our leaders have told us in the recent past compared to where they are actually playing their political chips in this election. Very revealing indeed. Shame on you, Harry Reid. No wonder you would not take a position on impeaching Bush* -- you could not do so without clouding the political future of your personal 2008 favorite.

What happened in NH was Hillary's "tearing up."

What happened with the CWU was many of the members already made up their minds before the late endorsement.

43. your welcome
now its all on Obama's shoulders I just hope he dosen't fuck it up. But he is a very smart cool guy. Actually the result could end up being the worst possible for HRC. Many Edwards supporters will now peel off. She inherits the problematic front runner status and any movment by Obama will be exaggerated in terms of momentum. Any win will be an upset. For the Clintons no more triangulation.

35. Oh, no, must mean she is a terrible candidate and Romney will beat
her by 20% in the GE!!!!:sarcasm:

I switched from Edwards to being undecided and then to a very lukewarm supporter of Clinton within the last three months or so. Now I am a strong supporter of her. The difference? Some of it stems from the posts of (mostly) Obama supporters here. BTW, when it looked like Obama may win both Iowa and NH, and Clinton would fade away, I was quite content to rally behind him, support him as our nominee, and work my butt off for him.

58. Because the crooked CWU system...
Gave Obama an unfair advantage. They were the only workers in the state that could vote from work. I'm sure the CWU paid off the state party well, but it still wasn't enough to carry the day.

Never have been crazy about Obama, but now I hope he gets his butt kicked royally on Super Tuesday. He's unqualified, and his campaign is just crooked as far as I'm concerned. He plays from the Rovian book of campaigning... all down and dirty, behind the scenes, happy to see voter intimidation of union members, not saying a word against it. And of course, desperate attempts to pretend that the nasty tactics are not being approved by him, but by surrogates he can't control instead. Reminds me of Bush and the Swift Boat vets.
