Why "progressives" think that the party bosses, whom they denounce as sellouts and traitors and DINOS, would pick a candidate that THEY like is unfathomable to me. Especially since in a situation like that the superdelegates would likely hold the balance of power. I shudder to think of all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that would provoke.
Actually, I would love to see a brokered convention because it would be fascinating to watch, much more so than the carefully stage-managed pep rallies that the conventions have become. I've just been bemused by the idea I've seen expressed that the product of the old-fashion sausage making machine would be better than that produced by a more democratic process.
how people here complain about vote counting, the unfairnes of caucuses, etc. etc. and some here want the convention to nominate someone who didn't score a single vote.
11. I'm sure edwards clinton and obama will really get behind
someone who did not compete in any primary or caucus, as I'm sure will all their workers and donors. Never mind the absence of any gore organization. Great for the democratic party to nominate someone who earned no delegates. Just what entitles Gore the nomination in your book?
