NEVADA – SEIU Nevada members in Reno, Elko and the Las Vegas valley have been hitting the phones and working the streets and their workplaces to get their fellow union members out to caucus for Barack Obama tomorrow.
Today, SEIU Nevada members attended Barack Obama Town Halls at the University of Nevada, Reno and Elko High School. Members also attended the Town Hall yesterday at Rancho High School in LasVegas and the rally this evening at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Steve Smagala, a recovery room registered nurse at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno and SEIU Nevada member, attended the event at UNR and got fired up for tomorrow’s caucus: "I think Barack has ideas about what he wants to do and directly said what he was going to do. I liked what he had to say.”
Smagala added, “His wife was a hell of a speaker, too.” Tomorrow, Smagala also plans to make the caucus a familyaffair, by attending with his son, to be a part of history in caucusing for Barack Obama.
Olyna Doren, a Labor and Delivery RN at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospitalin Elko and SEIU Nevada member, shared the stage with Senator Obama and a number of other community supporters at the Town Hall in Elko.
