Republican Ideas challenging conventional wisdom: Vouchers, Privatization, Outsourcing, Pre-emptive
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 03:51 AM by FrenchieCat
War, Mini-Nukes, Torture, and more.

many here are gasping in indignation in that Obama states that it was Republicans that challenged the conventional wisdom with new Ideas within the last 10-15 years.

So OBama is being tarred and feathered for this.

But isn't he right?

There were many more ideas that challenged conventional wisdom in the last few years.

Too Many in fact.

ELECTIVE WAR - Is a new recent idea challenging convention wisdom. Who thought of it?

FREE SPEECH ZONES - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

LIBERAL MEDIA - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

VOUCHERS - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

PRIVATIZATION - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

DEREGULATION - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

OUTSOURCING - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

MINI-NUKES - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

FREEDOM PINS - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

MAKING LIBERAL A BAD WORD - Is a new recent idea. Who thought of it?

I'm sure there's more!

So name the Ideas that Democrats came up with challenging conventional wisdom.
I'll be waiting.

Thanks!

5. Which was all that Obama was pointing out...in his excellent
50 minute interview...in where he talks about all of his democratic ideals...which are many...but nobody is quoting him on those.

6. Or his criticism of centrism, out of his book
This is one of the main criticisms of Obama, that he's a DLC centrist who will negotiate away everything we've gained. Yet right from his book, he points out this failure among Democrats along with the lack of realization that its happening.

"Others pursue a more "centrist" approach, figuring that so long as they split the difference with the conservative leadership, they must be acting reasonably -- and failing to notice that with each passing year they are giving up more and more ground."

8. actually liberals, pro choice ones, came up with free speech zones
by banning anti abortion protests around clinics. Like it or not, we are to blame for that one.

15. Again?!?!#*! Tarred and Feathered, Obama, WTF?!?!
You have to know that tarred and feathered was a practice used on African-Americans. You purposefully are using racial imagery in
defending Obama. Speechless.

18. Get a hold of yourself!
The history of this form of punishment was not reserved to those of color.....so I'm not quite sure why you seem so offended anyways....

Read up on it.

19. The early history yes, but in more modern times it was frequently used
"The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was organized in Greenville on September 12, 1938 in an atmosphere of fear. By this time, African Americans lived in constant fear of the wrath of the “night riders,” cross-burnings and the Klu Klux Klan. African Americans who supported the NAACP saw this organization as their only hope for a brighter tomorrow. Many African Americans were lynched, tarred and feathered for sport more often than for cause."

PURPOSE: No longer is it acceptable to trample upon the memories and honor of those who were tarred and feathered, burnt alive, castrated, hung, boiled alive, sodomized and tortured with hot pokers, disemboweled, unmercifully tortured in countless numbers of other ways, all in the name of the n-word, simply because since the victims were considered to be a n**ger it was okay to perform such atrocious, despicable acts.

I've been called everything under the sun from "La Petite Negresse" to the "N" word.
I think I can say Tarred and feathered and get away with it.
But thank you for your objection.
It has been noted.
