(Note, you can dislike him, but still think he's the best candidate.)

1. The last should be "YES, I like him more now"
That's my choice.

3. There are people whose names we don't know who were the fortunate
beneficiaries of his community work in the greater Chicago area not so very long ago.

I would trust their testamonies on his commitment to community and citizenship.

Effective federal governments are only as effective as their communities. I honor many strengths in Obama, but I think those anonymous names from that network and that commitment would be extremely valuable gauges of his potential as a president.

6. I really, really like you, Old Crusoe.
You are the voice of reason in hard times, and you always have been, unlike myself! Thank you.

8. Madam. We need to get that point clear and true about "yourself" --
and by way of example I recall a given evening on these boards when you were maligned with coarse speech -- speech that we would ordinarily expect from 6th or 7th graders in the back of a schoolbus, and all because you posted a firm but quite fair objection and observation to a specific point.

Several people rose to your defense that evening, and properly so, and among them were some of us who have read you day in and day out on these boards.

You bring a whole hell of a lot to the dialogue here, and you do it with brains and heart and style.

I say keep on keepin' on, and let's win the damn White House from the lizard-soul Republicans in November!

19. Thank you so much for your vote of confidence, OC.
I don't remember the dialogue you mention, but do know my opinion is true, as is yours. And that's why I think the world of you! :toast:

and a peacemaker.

7. I was leary of Obama prior to this last week. With the Reagan thing,
he's confirmed what I was hesitant about from reading his book last May, and posted here, then.

I don't think he really knows who he is or what he stands for.

9. At this point he and Clinton are in the "just get us a win" category.
I'm really not thrilled with either of them right now.

10. Starting with the debate (delegater in chef), going through dirty tricks Michigan,
Nevada - and culminating with the Raygun love - you betcha. I started the week liking him - ending it - not so much.

15. The Clintons are emulating the same dirty tricks spawned by Karl Rove.
They were abused by the GOP for the last two decades, and rather than learning and growing from that experience, they have chosen to mimic it.

You must be very proud.

See my sig line for their state-by-state tactics including but not limited to using litigation to suppress the vote her opponents.

You must be very proud.

16. I suppose YOU think that setting up special caucus centers within........
the work establishments of unions that support obama is reasonable and fair. The most disgusting part of this is how blatant this privileged act was.

17. The plan was crafted by NV and the DNC and approved 10 months ago.
What I think doesn't enter into it. It was settled between NV and the DNC.

As I said, three of the authors of the bill, all Clinton advocates, wrote the bill 10 months ago ... and suddenly two days after Obama got the Culinary union endorsement they have a problem with plan they wrote? That reeks so bad it can be smelled from Neptune.

I will assume you either don't want to know in spite of the AlterNET (a reputable group) analysis in my sig line, or you don't understand the logistics of this political power-play on the part of the Clintons.

But allow me to conclude by saying this is Nevada's and the DNC's business, that they hammered this plan out months ago with not a peep, that this has nothing to do with the Obama campaign, oh, other than the fact that the Clintons are pissed that the union endorsement went to him, not Hillary. And I guess he must be punished in some way. Right?

We get it.
