'Harvard Crimson' Endorses Obama
Editor&Publisher: 'Harvard Crimson' Endorses Obama and McCain
By UWire
Published: January 18, 2008

NEW YORK The Harvard Crimson Friday endorsed Barack Obama and John McCain for the Feb. 5 Massachusetts primaries, touting each man as the best nominee in their respective political parties.

has won our unmitigated support because he has the experience, policy proposals, and vision required not only to be president, but to fundamentally alter the way our broken political system functions,” wrote the Crimson editorial board of Obama, a 1991 graduate of Harvard Law.

Obama had previously won endorsements from both of the major student newspapers in Iowa ahead of the Iowa caucus, which the Illinois Senator won on the strength of a high youth turnout.

In the editorial, the Harvard newspaper touted Obama’s consistent opposition to the Iraq war, immigration ideas, tax relief proposals for college students and his healthcare plan, which The Crimson said was the “most pragmatic solution.”

In particular, the editorial refuted criticisms about Obama’s experience, saying “what Sen. Obama might lack in political experience, he makes up with sound judgment, intelligence, charisma, and a personable and bipartisan demeanor.”...

1. I think they have the candidates right.
When the election time comes, these two will be facing each other.

3. AND McCAIN. In the interest of full disclosure, after all.
Fucking idiots--who said an Ivy League education was any advantage? These people are IDIOTS:

The Crimson’s endorsement of McCain makes it the fifth college newspaper to endorse the Arizona Senator for the Republican nomination.

“Having held public office for more than 25 years, McCain still appears vigorous, energetic and ready to lead the nation at the age of seventy-one,” wrote The Crimson. “Although we cannot support all of his policy positions, we believe that, all things considered, McCain is the clear choice for the Republican nomination.”

In its endorsement, the newspaper touts McCain’s foreign policy viewpoint and experience — formed by his years as a POW during Vietnam and his service in the U.S. Senate. It calls his stance on issues such as embryonic stem cell research and campaign finance reform “progressive”, especially when compared to other GOP candidates.

The Crimson did caution that McCain’s stance on Iraq and health care are worrisome, but pointed to his experience and integrity as positives that would make him a good candidate for president.

“He is a public servant that has worked for the welfare of the entire country for more than a quarter of a century,” wrote The Crimson. “A man like that is hard to find or pass up.”

Who the fuck wrote that, Mae West??
