Reagan Comments will pass, just like the fight over Race did.
Three days ago everyone on these boards were up in arms over who was playing the race card.

Three days from now everyone on these boards will be up in arms over something we have not heard about yet.

Nobody who supports Obama is going to stop supporting him because of some civil discussion concerning a dead president. We like the fact that he can disagree without being disagreeable.

Nobody who does not support Obama is going to begin supporting him because of some civil discussion concerning a dead president. You don't care that he can disagree without being disagreeable.

Isn't there anything that slightly resembles an actual issue that someone would like to comment upon?

1. I strongly believe the "race" comments shifted millions of votes
An issue comes and goes...but it can shake the race.
I don't think the Reagan comments, however, will even be top news tomorrow, because they were uttered by Obama. Had Clinton praised a right-wing president shit would have hit the fan immediately.

3. Sorry pontificator, but actually the fact that Reagan f'd up the country
and lead to further f'ing up of the country (ala 'Contract with America', etc) is relevant to the current political environment in which we find ourselves. Sorry, if that bores you, but the rest of us have to try to figure out how to undo the mess these assholes have left the country in.

4. It may be true that you feel that way but I can guarantee
that Obama's comments will have little if any effect on the primary process. The days will go by. People will vote and DU will have zip effect on the process.

In less than three weeks we'll have a pretty good idea of where things will end up re the nomination. In the meantime, people here will continue freaking out about this or that. It's largely meaningless what people freak out about on DU.

5. Hate to say it, cause I am a part of it.....
but we often look like a zoo...where all the doors of all the cages are opened.

But yeah....you're right!
