1. All three candidates were far better than their questioners, with the possible exception of Natalie Morales.
2. The first 35 minutes were NBC/GE Media drivel - not a single question was asked about a single issue. Note that east of the Mississippi this is prime time - the time when the most viewers would be watching. Only the candidates addressed issues during that time.
3. Any two of these three deserve to be on the ticket together. I really support that as an expression of party unity and the best way to win in 2008.
4. The candidates' themes seem to be more different than their disagreements on issues. Edwards stresses the fight for the middle and working classes, Obama stresses a unified country working toward common goals, Hillary highlights her experience and greater facility with the issues.
5. I'm glad that the race and gender cards have been put back in the deck - two days after Hillary's MLK comment, at my train station, I saw three Nation members hawking the latest issue of The Call with Obama's name in the front page headline and a white guy and a black guy squaring off. Dialing it down is good - it makes it easier to support and work for the winner in November even if that person is not your favorite candidate.
6. I'm still leaning Edwards though I still might vote for Obama.
