Green Party Exists, Few People Notice
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 01:35 PM by LoZoccolo
The Green Party is alive and we… well, they’re alive anyway and they held their own candidate debate yesterday in San Francisco, moderated by the needs-to-permanently-disappear-from-public-life Cindy Sheehan and either Matt Gonzalez or Aimee Allison (reports on the matter conflict, probably because of the contact high the reporters had).

It's good to see Wonkette give props to anti-splinterism.

1. Greens in CA can re-register on or before Jan 22nd in order to vote for Edwards or Obama or HRC

Go to a Post Office and fill out the voter registration form; mail it (with Jan 22nd or before postmark) or take it to the county registrar of voters !

I'm voting for Edwards !

5. They didn't have any competition of ideas at their debate from what I hear.
"We're not so much against each other as we are for each other," said one of the candidates, Kent Mesplay, an environmental engineer who also ran for the Green Party nomination in 2004. "We have to be because by no means is (the two-party system) a level playing field."

The nearly three-hour event was co-moderated by "Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan and KPFA radio host Aimee Allison, who allowed the candidates timed answers to questions about the war in Iraq, illegal immigration, the farm bill and health care, among other subjects.

Nearly every answer was greeted with nods of agreement from the other candidates waiting their turns and by roars of applause from the audience, giving the forum a pep rally feeling.

It seems like they like to talk about how stifling the Democratic Party is at the same time there's this odd pragmatism towards their own party they are all being complacent with.
