Michigan Backfire?
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but couldn't this complete electoral blockade of Michigan's delegates, and the lack of campaigning there lead to voter negativity towards whomever the eventual nominee is in the general election? It seems to me this could risk a very important swing state. Thoughts?

This situation is just bad news all around.

4. Most people aren't paying attention and don't vote in primaries
The most pissed off people are active Dems. DO you think they will go vote for Romney or Huckabee or whoever in the G.E? I don't. This sure doesn't help, but I am not worried yet. I voted UNCOMMITTED.

5. It's important to get people involved early in the primary process and that is not
happening for the DEMS. This will be felt in the general election.

6. Yes, and it has.
I will not vote today, and I will not vote come November if there is not an acceptable candidate. I don't enable enablers.

7. It may help McCain, who is perhaps the GOP's strongest candidate, win the nomination
That would qualify as backfiring in my book.

8. Yes, I expect MI voters to punish Democrats for the lack of campaigning and the "blockade".
The republicans can make that Issue #1 and it could work for them. Huge mistake on the part of the Democratic party, IMO.
