Help an Ex-Kucinich Supporter Re-Evaluate Obama and Hillary (Based on Issues Where Both Voted)
I am fighting the perception that Obama and Hillary are just two sides of the same coin.

If that's the case, I'll support Edwards.

But there MUST be some meaningful OBJECTIVE difference between Obama and Hillary (or else why all the vicious mud slinging between their supporters?).

To make the comparison as objective and fair as possible, I am collecting a list of issues where BOTH Obama and Hillary voted and they did not agree. I am NOT looking for

-- issues where Hillary voted on something before Obama was in the Senate,

-- issues where one voted but the other missed the vote,

-- issues where they promise to vote one way or the other in the future.

Here are five votes on my list so far:

March 2007 - Obama voted for redeploying US troops out of Iraq in a year; Hillary voted against the redeployment schedule.

One point for Obama

March 2006 - Obama voted for the creation of the Senate Office of Public Integrity; Hillary voted against it.

One point for Obama

February 2006 - Obama voted against expanding tax cuts on capital gains and dividends; Hillary voted for the expansion.

One point for Obama

August 2005 - Hillary voted against Bush's Energy Policy Act which gave tax cuts to the coal, nuclear, and oil industries while weakening the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.

One point for Hillary

February 2005 - Hillary voted to preserve the consumers' and workers' rights through protection of the right to class actions; Obama voted against preserving these protections.

One point for Hillary

PLEASE ADD TO THIS LIST OF VOTES WHERE BOTH OBAMA AND HILLARY VOTED BUT DID NOT AGREE

1. A Hillary nom raises the odds of Bloomberg and Nader getting in the race.
You can add a point to whomever, depending on how you feel about that.

4. Edwards was my choice after originally backing Dennis.
He was the first out with concrete plans for Healthcare, the economy & climate change.

He seems to be the only of the 3 to attack Corporations and back people instead.

I don't honestly know how as a Kucinich supporter you could back Hillary or Obama?

5. ex dennis
I supported Dennis with money in late December.

I'm switching my support to Edwards, as he is the most anti-corporate anti MSM guy out there that is viable. I really want to send a message the two majors better pay attn. to what Edwards is all about. Any of us that have watched our income stay basically flat to slightly less from 1972 to the present, vs. the 1% wealthiest who have seen their income rise exponentially in the same time period.

If MSM did what it's supposed to do, then 99% of America would be enthusiastic Edwards supports.

6. Also consider who contributes to each campaign - that's equally important
Money is the lifeblood of politics, and who the contributors were to the winning candidate is a good indication of who the elected official will serve. You can find a lot of information on this at http://opensecrets.org/

7. Looking at which corporate interests support Obama and which corporate interests support Hillary
inspires no confidence in either.

12. I think the difference for Edwards is that he does not accept money from
corporate lobbyists or lobbyists for foreign government, and has stated that lobbyists will have no place in his White House. Neither Obama or Clinton will say that.

8. I'm voting for the democrat who stood against the war, stood for single payer, and
brought impeachment to the table.

You vote for who you want. I hope all your hopes and dreams are realized.

14. Hillary's high negatives will hurt, and McCain will tear Obama apart over his empty rhetoric.
