NPR - On Point, Clinton, Obama, and Race - coming up live, here's a link:
http://www.wbur.org/listen/
The tease: "Obama should've been the candidate to transcend race. and Clinton should've been the last candiate ever accused of being racist.."
(if they repeat the quote, I'll try and get it exact...)

5. yeah, and two out of three thought her comments were ill advised and
poorly worded- exactly what obama said. And they're talking much more harshly about Clinton than Obama

Saying Obama was NOT playing the race card.

4. Moderator: "very deliberate attempt by Obama camp to push the race issue..."
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 10:38 AM by MethuenProgressive
And the two who responded agreed that Bill's 'fairy tale' comment was taken out of context from refering to the media's reporting of Obama's Iraq War record to calling Obama's campaign a fairy tale.
...just said it was Obama who put race on the table first.
I  NPR

edit to indicate which person said it.

8. I'm going to stick this PBS link in
your thread MP because it's a great discussion between John Lewis and Joseph Lowery on the same subject. I don't think we need to flame the issue again, so I won't start a new thread about it.

Here it is if anyone's interested:

16. Juan Williams on Morning Edition this morning
was talking about Obama comparing himself to MLK and Bobby Kennedy, and as far as I know he's never said EITHER of those about himself.

I can't stand Juan Williams, not because of this but over the long term. Quit listening to Talk of the Nation when he was host. What a shame after Ray Suarez.

Anyway, good for Obama for taking the high road on this and for helping stop this nonsense.
