Poll question: Edwards/Obama, Edwards/Clinton, Edwards/Gore ...
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 12:09 AM by sjdnb
Who is the best team to stand up for what is right for America on principle, not just what is politically expedient for the party?

"Democratic presidential rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama stepped back from a controversy over race Monday night, agreeing that a prolonged clash over civil rights could harm their party's overall drive to win the White House." Well, la-dee-da, the 'kids' have decided to play nice for the good of the party. While that same party has basically tossed all other candidates (irregardless of how well qualified or how well they represented Democratic ideals) to the curb.

So, we've been subjected to weeks of this crap for what?

I propose the following:

1. As much as I adore Al Gore.....
I can't see him ever running as VP. It would be a demotion from the de facto world ambassador he has become.

3. Yeah, I know you're right, but I thought I'd throw it out there

I donated to every Gore draft/write-in group I could find, but, unfortunately, it was a non-starter - I should have added "or vice versa" to that option.

I could, however, see him serving in a cabinet capacity, though.

4. Edwards/Obama and we have the White House for 8 years.

Edwards first because you have to clean house before you can put in new furniture.

Obama second because he is young and can run in 2016.

Edwards is the only candidate in the race who has actually run against a Republican in a presidential race. True, Hillary has been very close to that experience, but she hasn't actually had to debate under he pressure of a national campaign on national TV. Edwards has.

The toughest opponent that Edwards has faced is Alan Keyes. He is really not ready to run for president against the Republican masters of dirty tricks. He will be ready to manage a presidential campaign in eight years, but he is not up to it now.
