Hillary is a foregone conclusion by the Repubs---why???
I just got a letter from the Republican National Committee today, attempting to raise funds by using the dreaded 'H' word - Hillary. I don't have a clue why I get their mailings, since I'm a registered independent. I had a former neighbor who was a staunch Republican who became a state representative - maybe he submitted my name somehow.

At any rate, according to this mailer, HRC is going to be the Democratic nominee. Read some key phrases:

"Either Senator Clinton will become President and (a long list of Republican nightmares are listed here)...or we will mobilize the grassroots Republican base of our Party and move forward....."

"Our Republican nominee for President of the United States will need your input before he does battle with the Clinton machine."

"I have no doubt that 2008 will be exactly the same -- just a few voters in each precinct across America will make the difference between Senator Hillary Clinton becoming President Hillary Clinton..."

"Senate Democrats will rubber stamp every radical left-wing judge Senator Clinton sends them for confirmation to the Supreme Court."

My question is, why are they SO SURE that HRC is going to be the nominee??? Is a fix in the works???? It just seems odd they send out fund-raising materials that specifically act as if she'll be the one - what do they know??

1. They are desperately trying to establish her as a target.
Since their candidates are so lousy, they need a flashpoint candidate to re-energize their base.

And HRC is the one they need.

2. Do You Suppose, Sir, Honesty Is a Requirement For Fund-Raising Mass Mail?

They say this because they suppose it might wring a few extra dollars out of their exhausted and dispirited individual donors. If things turn out otherwise, they still have the money....

3. I got a Hillary is evil fundraiser letter here
in KS as well and I'm a registered Dem.
I think some friends put me on a list as a cruel joke some time ago. Sons a bitches.
You should see the stuff!
As for Hillary for repug fundraising, I'm surprised they don't actually hire her for fundraiser dinners. Just think, She shows up, waves, repugs fork over thousands. She could do 5 a night for 15% take home!

Our letters in Kansas are the usual stuff, Hillary and the Evil Legion of Doom (Which apparently consists of the Gays, Muslims, Mexicans, Blacks, Liberals, Poor People, Intellectuals--well, basically anyone I know or am related to falls into this "evil" group) will be doing everything to destroy America this coming November, so please send the republican party more money.

I think they just assume Hillary will win, and even if not, her name seems to influence the juices of a republican pineal gland, turning them more mad with hate and rage than if they just saw a muslim and a poor person attend a black lesbian wedding. It's a frothing mad style "compassionate conservatism".
When in this Hillary induced rage they feel a fanatical need to send republicans money.
I can't explain it. I just try to avoid it.
It's like that Pavlov and the dog thing, except this time the animals are dumber. And richer.
