Bill Clinton compiles 'list' of Obama attacks

(CNN) — Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign came out swinging Monday against the latest complaints from her rival, with former President Clinton announcing he has "a list of 80 attacks on Hillary" by Senator Barack Obama's campaign.

In a nationally syndicated radio interview on WVON, Bill Clinton said Hillary Clinton's way of handling attacks showed a clear difference from Obama. "She didn't complain about it," he said, citing one in particular that he considered "appalling." "She just said 'I disagree,' and went on."

Clinton's remarks on the Roland S. Martin Show — which has a largely African-American audience — came amid a flare-up over remarks by Black Entertainment Television founder Bob Johnson, who appeared with Hillary Clinton on Sunday at a church in South Carolina, site of an upcoming primary. Many believe Johnson made a veiled reference to Obama's drug use as a young man, though he insists that was not his intention.

"I think we have to take it at his word," the former president told Martin, adding that "nobody knew" what Johnson would say, and "it wasn't part of any planned strategy."...

1. Dragging out that Bhutto lie again
They haven't said one thing that has been true about Obama yet. Except he voted to fund a war that Hillary helped start.

9. "they haven't said one thing that has been true about Obama yet'
And that's the bottom line.

The floor beneath the bottom line says, if they do it to Obama, they're doing it to others and will do it to the party. They are not good for the Democratic party. They are not good for the nation.

People need to watch their backs around the Clintons, if this is how they choose to fight. It's shameful, because (unfortunately) this is what Republicans have been saying about them all along.

Why are they working so hard to prove Republicans right about them? Republicans aren't saying 'I'll vote for the Clintons'. They're saying, 'Told you.'

2. "I have in my hand a list of 80 attacks...."
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 05:33 PM by heraldsqure

Damn, he's channeling Joe McCarthy!

from the article:

"I've got before me a list of 80 attacks on Hillary that are quite personal by Sen. Obama and his campaign going back six months that I've had pulled," he said, speaking to CNN contributor Roland Martin on WVON-AM's "The Roland S. Martin Show" based in Chicago, Illinois.

Edit to add: though people made fun of me for it before, this is truly a feudian slip - he's using the same words a notorious liar used to refer to his 'list.' He's admitting he's lying even as he makes the attack. That's amazing.

10. 'that I've pulled'... yeah, I'm sure you did pull them, Bill.
But that doesn't make them true.

Are you responsible for the 'his mother is an athiest and he is a closet muslim' smears, Bill?

And the million dollar question: Why do they want back in the White House again?

13. Don't you feel left out?
In IA and NH where the voters could challenge this garbage one-on-one with the candidates they held their punches. NOW that this is a national campaign they shoot and duck - fire and run - x(

17. So true.
Cant help but notice how much nastier they've become now that our states have voted. They no longer have anyone to answer to and the msm sucks on like leeches. Sound-bites control the outcome now. Its such a shame.

8. Maybe the Obama and clinton campaigns will slug it out
. . . and Edwards will rise to the top, driving the issue of his elect-ability to the garbage dump.

12. Bill ought to stick to giving a positive message about his wife.
His current mode is unbecoming to a former president.

But the Clinton campaign doesn't do that. They are ABOVE dirty politics.
Only the Obama campaign uses those tactics. I don't get it.

15. Bill Clinton, a man who never forgets to ejaculate on the respectibility of the American Presidency
Bill, give it up... I mean....um... how do I say this.

You've disrespected the American Presidency enough for ten presidents and you continue to embarrass yourself while we have to watch.

Go find yourself an intern and get off the stage.

I got your fairy tale right here, pal.

16. “minority candidates have ‘a higher threshold in
in establishing themselves with voters.’” Barack H. Obama..manchester n.h.
That is a laughable claim but a shrewd use of the race card to position Obama for future manipulation of the electoral process. For him to claim that the barriers are higher, that the bar is higher for him to succeed, is nonsense. It is crass racialism. Obama is a product of the very “24-hour…small-minded politics” that he decries.

Don’t get me wrong. Americans are justifiably hungry to consider a qualified African-American candidate for president. Richard Parsons of Time-Warner comes to mind. Heard of him? Probably not. I thought so. Parson’s qualified, but Barack seems to have fooled Iowa and some in N.H. Don’t let him fool you. Unless, of course, you want to be fooled. Personally, I would rather believe in Santa Claus or Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer than Barack Hussein Obama.
