Biden made comments that could have been taken as Racist and Obama
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 01:21 PM by 2rth2pwr
within one day came out and put out the fire right away. Obviously he knew that if he let the criticisms of Biden continue Biden and the party would forever be damaged. This was one of the first examples of his "New Kind Of Politics, A Politics Of Hope" and people were impressed.

""They are loaded words," Rev. Jesse Jackson told ABC News. "And that's why he should interpret what he meant by those loaded words. It was an attempt I thought to diminish Barack's attributes and dismissive of our previous campaigns that made Barack's candidacy possible."
Jackson said Biden's remarks "could be divisive." "

"When I heard his comments I thought Joe Biden was referring to a bygone era," said Donna Brazile, the former campaign manager for Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign and a prominent African-American political consultant. "Years ago when white folks referred to black people with education they often used words like articulate. To suggest they were different, they were acceptable.

Within 24 hrs Obama came out with a statement and cleared the air for everybody.

Obama has the power to stop this, he knows he can stop this and so far has decided not to.

My point? My point is that the comments labeled "racist" by his supporters like "fairytale", could easily be addressed. Instead Obama has chosen to let them fester and ooze.

Very disappointing coming from the "candidate of change".

1. Few, if any of his supporters have labeled them as racist
Biden also apologized for any misunderstanding. Why is this so hard for the Clintons. Biden was sincere, I doubt there is any sincerity with the Clintons regarding any of this.

5. feigning ignorance doesn't flatter you.

if you want me to provide all the quotes that have come from his supporters that are just like the 2 in my OP, I can. But somehow I have a feeling you know all of them and are just being passive aggressive.

6. I still don't understand your point
Jessie Jackson Jr is his national co-chair. His father is quoted in your OP. I get that. What an I missing? What does that have to do with Biden and Obama?

33. Isn't that true?
Did Clinton ever shed tears for victims of Katrina?

And what else did he say that's so terrible?

8. When did JJJ call the Clintons racist?
Calling tears phony is the same as calling someone a racist?

4. Biden is sincere, while the Clintons share the same lying pathology of the Bushes
The Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton dynasty has zero credibility!

But, you relentlessly go after Clinton.

It makes one curious as to why.

Biden and Clinton have always been my 2 picks for President.

32. Biden repented. Hillary is not only unrepentant, but she voted to do the same on Iran
The truth is that Hillary is as much an imperialist as any of Bush's neocons.

14. unjustifiably, though
"articulate" became the newest racial word, and Obama supporters actually believed Biden would say other African Americans who've run for president needed a bath!

15. Justifiable or not
You would never understand. Making light of it actually makes it worse.

I know he wasn't being offensive because I know Biden's record. Others who were not familiar with the person was right to question it. Now they know.

13. Obama's a Drug Dealer Out of a Madrassa
It's not like he hasn't sustained repeated personal smears of the lowest, lowest kind from the highest levels of the Clinton camp.

Biden just worded his sentiment poorly. The Clinton's thought long and hard about how to best smear Obama. That's a little different.

16. I thought clinton (bill) was right on.
Obama's Iraq policy (whatever the hell it is) IS a fairytale. That's what clinton was talking about, thats not at ALL racial. The media is jumping all over this thing like Janet Jackson's exposed booby. I've lost all respect for all the primetime cable news talking heads (not that i had that much to begin with). Ever since Biden said that, i've heard many, many people (david gergen for example) refer to obama as "articulate" and they dont get any heat for it.
