Rasmussen: McCain 49% Clinton 38%
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/election_2008_mccain_vs_clinton_and_obama

It is not the spread that is important it is that it is significantly less of a spread for certain other candidates. We can not let the GOP take the White House for another 8 years!

4. Ras was probably the most accurate pollster in '04
but I don't take this too seriously as this point.

8. The CNN Poll Shows Opposite Results
I trust CNN more than a pollster who is a fixture on FOX NEWS...

The original poster also doesn't reveal Republimussen has Obama losing too, albeit by a much smaller margin...

2. All it is going to take is a small terror attack on US soil
and we'll be stuck with McCain. He'll probably let Bush camp out in the Lincoln bedroom for another 4 years (Cheney would be relegated to the basement cooking area).

3. You still look at those?
Forget the polls. Stand up for what you believe.

6. How is this different that rasing the terror alert?
How are we not using scare tactics to win elections?

10. It's not even February yet
Barak and Hillary both have a lot of work to do even before the first bead of sweat departs their forehead in battle with the Republican candidate.

And so does John Edwards. But he's known that all along.

11. McCain would absolutely kill hillary in the general.
Ten point loss for Hillary is optimistic in the extreeeeeeeeeme.

In addition to all the other obvious things that Hillary can be the target of.....consider....

Hillary has already made lots of references to "experience" being the key thing. Well, these words would come back to haunt Hillary since McCain has more experience and would clean her clock on this issue. Using her own words!

Not to mention one of McCain's weaknesses is his support for iraq....but Hillary can't use Iraq as an issue....she voted for it forcrisssakes. All he would have to do if she badmouthed the war would be to accuse her of only changing her views when the public opinion polls changed....game, set, match to McCain.
