CORRECTION: OBAMA "The notion that this is our doing is ludicrous."
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:50 PM by Kristi1696
Let's use the full quote. Let's not be puppets of the MSM here, people. Brains...ON. Hysteria...OFF.

Let's read it in his own words, without the MSM's spin to divide us:

"Asked about Clinton's "Meet the Press" comments on a telephone conference call with reporters this morning, Obama had a blistering response, calling Clinton's suggestion that his campaign was involved in pushing the storyline "ludicrous".

"This is fascinating to me," he began. "I think what we saw this morning was why the American people are tired of Washington politicians and the games they play.

"Look, the, Sen. Clinton made an unfortunate remark, an ill advised remark, about King and Lyndon Johnson," Obama said. "I didn't make the statement. I haven't remarked on it. And she, I think, offended some folks who felt that somehow diminished King's role in bringing about the civil rights act. She is free to explain that. But the notion that somehow this is our doing is ludicrous."

7. Obama stated the truth.
He had not commented.

No one from his campaign had commented.

What Obama said was true.

Please, start to better analyze what the MSM reports. For the good of your candidate. For the good of our party. For the good of our country.

11. How Old Was Obama When This Was Going On?
Can some one explain to me all of Obama's first hand experience with the 1960's Civil Rights Movement? Anything he knows about it he had to either read in a book or had to be told by someone else. Hillary was spot on. MLK didn't gain all the advancements that he did by taking these rights or having them given. It took ACTION on the part of a great number of people both black and white. The point she was trying to make was words without actions are merely words. And she was trying to say at the same time "How about showing us that there is more than just a stuffed suit standing there." I love How The B.O. supporters have to rely on distortions, mindless attacks and any other dirty tricks (while never owning up to them I might ad), to distort HRC, and her words. How about showing us some ACTIONS that B.O. has taken to back up all of the eloquent speech. You don't have any do you? Your ignorant mindless attacks are becoming tiresome and the bellicose tone only furthers your opponents cause.

19. I would really like to know what your experience is because
if you really took the time (and I'm fairly sure you haven't and won't) you will see Obama has an extensive track record on civil rights and empowering people to vote and dimishing the interests of lobbyists. This occured in his community work in Chicago as well as as a State and U.S. Senator for 11 years.

18. She was implying that MLK was all words and no action
She was implying that it was the WHITE president who was really responsible for the Civil Rights movement because everyone knows those poor little blacks were in over their heads.

27. Hillary did not make an unfortunate remark, she told the truth!!
MLK was one of Hillary's heroes, she was able to hear him speak twice. When he was assassinated she was despondent. When she calmed down, she immediately went to work to demand that Wellesley admit more African American girls to the college. Bill and Hillary have both fought for civil rights and it sickens me to see how their comments were deliberately misinterpreted in an attempt to use reverse racism on them. Luckily, the African American people I have talked to (to gauge their opinion since I'm not black and may be insensitive to the issue) were actually angry that anybody would call Bill a racist.
