Hillary and some of her supporters intentionaly stirring the racism divisive pot
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:05 PM by ProSense
Clinton Supporters:

Obama's political stunt is worse than Willy Horton.

This morning, Kerry sounded like an angry white male Clinton hater.

On Meet The Press, Hillary Again Pushes Back Hard On Martin Luther King Flap:

"I was responding to...Senator Obama himself...and his comparison of himself to Kennedy and Dr. King. There is no doubt that inspiration offered by all three of them is essential....Dr. King didn't just give speeches. He marched..he was gassed. He was jailed..."

She added that King "wanted somebody in the White House to act," and went on to criticize the Obama campaign: "Clearly we know from media reports that the Obama campaign is deliberately distorting this."

A bit later, Hillary added this about King: "Does he deserve the lion's share of credit for moving our country?...Yes, he does." She added, however, that he had a "partner" in the White House.

6. Hillary and her campaign need to drop the racism and sexism baiting
A series of comments from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, her husband and her supporters are spurring a racial backlash and adding a divisive edge to the presidential primary as the candidates head south to heavily African-American South Carolina.

The comments, which ranged from the New York senator appearing to diminish the role of Martin Luther King Jr. in the civil rights movement — an aide later said she misspoke — to Bill Clinton dismissing Sen. Barack Obama’s image in the media as a “fairy tale” — generated outrage on black radio, black blogs and cable television. And now they've drawn the attention of prominent African-American politicians.

<...>

The series of comments Clinton critics’ cite began in mid-December, when the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s New Hampshire campaign, Bill Shaheen, speculated about whether Obama had ever dealt drugs. In the final days of the New Hampshire campaign, however, the discomfort of some black observers intensified as Bill Clinton dismissed the contrast between Obama’s judgment on the war and Clinton’s as a “fairy tale” and spoke dismissively of his short time in the Senate. And the candidate herself, in an interview with Fox News, stressed the role of President Lyndon Johnson, over Martin Luther King Jr., in the civil rights movement.

“I would point to the fact that Dr. King's dream began to be realized when President Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, when he was able to get through Congress something that President Kennedy was hopeful to do, the president before had not even tried, but it took a president to get it done,” she said, in response to a question about how her dismissive attitude toward Obama’s “false hopes” would have applied to the civil rights movement. “That dream became a reality, the power of that dream became real in people's lives because we had a president who said we are going to do it and actually got it accomplished.”

5. The Edwards campaign.
Remember when Elizabeth was complaining about how people weren't paying attention to her husband because he was a white male?

Also, drop the right wing meme of "race card". It's disgusting.

9. Clinton & co. MAKE the remarks. The msm REPORTS the remarks.
Tell me EXACTLY what role the Obama campaign has played in this. That is a direct question.

I will give you that Jackson's comment regarding Hillary was off-base, but that is an entirely separate issue. I'm asking specifically about the MLK, fariy-tale, "Shuck n' Jive" and "imaginary hip black friend" remarks. What SPECIFICALLY has the Obama campaign done regarding those remarks.

race and then accuse others of doing it.

11. Hillary is wrong and misleading.
"Clearly we know from media reports that the Obama campaign is deliberately distorting this."

That is incorrect.

"Clearly we know from media reports that the MEDIA is deliberately distorting this."

That is the correct statement. And Hillary knows it. Why would Hillary say something that she knows is not true?

I'll leave you all to draw your own conclusions on that.

12. Hillary's quoted remarks here REALLY are embarassing doubletalk
I'd LOVE to see someone take her charges, eg about Obama, and try to document and defend them as valid and logical.
