According to Snopes.com, their "hottest" (most viewed) page is currently
the one debunking Barack Obama childhood myths.

Which is good--it shows people are actually taking the time to research this stuff.

1. It also means the fallacious email in question is being widely circulated
I've received it 3 or 4 times myself. I always search Snopes when I get anything like that and they usually have it covered.

3. I had several people tell me
that Obama is a Muslim and that he intends to convert us all to Koran following zealots. They also told me they would never vote for him for that reason. Maybe they are just basically racist and really didn't want to show their intolerance.

These people are absolutely convinced of these facts and I doubt I was unable to change their minds. I was unable to find out where they got this misconception but the internet is a prime suspect.

I predict this political campaign year will be the dirtiest one in recent history.

5. I always tell them .... homeland security must suck
to allow such a radical muslim onto the senate floor on a daily basis. To even allow such a person to sit in the same room with the "COMMANDER GUY!!"

And how radical was Obama's father, to have married a white atheist infidel? The people who could believe such shit, would never consider voting for obama anyway. I am glad people are researching, not taking the email at face value. There is a sliver of hope.

4. The goal is to give people a reason not to vote for him.
AZ was set to host a Super Bowl in the 90's. At the time they had a racist Governor, Ev Mecham. A ballot initiative was in play NOT to support the Federal MLK day. It was presented as "we don't need another federal Holiday. It became a firestorm based upon the racist Gov. Then Greg Gumble, on an NFL pregame show basically said if they voters of AZ don't support the MLK day the NFL will be forced to pull the Super Bowl. This was spinned into some outsider telling us how to vote! Missing the obvious conclusion that if you vote base upon what some NY football analyst says you are being influenced by an outsider either way. AZ went the redneck route and voted against the Holiday. The NFL pulled the Super Bowl and later on the voters reversed.

Lesson learned, you can play the race card and win in the short term.
