The Level of Disrespect the Clintons have for Obama is Sickening
The panel brought up a very good point on Meet the Press with regards to the Clinton/Obama fued. One of them talked about how the Clinton's, many in the Senate, and the Bush White House are really envious towards Obama because he's the new kid on the block getting so much attention and love. This is showing itself in the way the Clinton campaign just totally disrespects Obama. And no, it's not something ALL candidates would do...because Obama wasn't attacking Clinton nearly on the same level and never has. Because he respects Hillary Clinton, he even congratulated her when he lost NH, that was more than she could do...or would ever do for him. When Obama was down in the polls, people were asking "when is Obama going to go after Hillary." Clinton supporters can't point out a couple of soft jabs as proof that Obama has gone after Hillary on the same level she has of him. You know, when people said the Clinton's were "me first" and power hungry...I never believed them. I thought it was just anti-Clintonism seeping through. As the days go by, this election is proving me wrong more and more.

I, for the life of me, don't know why Obama isn't going after Hillary and challenging her on her "35 years of experience." If Obama hopes to win the nomination, he can't let her continue unchallenged on that. Bill Richardson basically said in the NH debate that none of them were as experienced as he was...and it's the truth. Same thing for Biden and Dodd too. Hillary Clinton couldn't hold their jock straps when it comes to experience. What major piece of legislation has she ever put forward that changed anything in 35 years? What crisis's has she negotiated and brought peace to? There are many ways to water down her experience argument, but the Obama people don't seem like they want to do that...for whatever reason.

One thing is for certain though, this race is already splitting the Party in ways I've never seen before.

I think you need to brush up on your metaphors...I don't think politcians wear jock straps unless they have some weird fetish I don't even want to think of...

8. That doesn't make sense
1. I don't think it's a metaphor in the first place

2. If you make the leap that by saying that he is comparing politicians to athletes, than his use of "jock strap" makes perfect sense

17. Athletes Wear Jock Straps...Boxers Wear Jock Straps ...Politicians Presumably Wear Underwear
The metaphor comes from Larry Holmes who famously or infamously said "Rocky Marciano couldn't carry my jock strap."

20. Damnit
That's not a metaphor either lol

If anything it's more of a proverb

Proverb: A brief, sage saying that expresses a truth about life in a striking manner.
"They are not all cooks who carry long knives" is an example of a proverb.

and they are going to lose this election because their campaign is a reflection of Republican and old Dem politics. If you can't beat the candidate on facts just beat the candidate. It's all they know.

4. DU'ers supporting Obama- stop reacting to Hillary. At this point, you're hurting your own cause
Let Hillary's surrogates here on DU and on the campaign trail lay the bait.

Why some DU'ers continue to take it is beyond me.

IF YOU JUST STOPPED REACTING it'd be apparent what was going on.

Clinton look bad on all their own- without any need for Obama or his supporters to FEED them.

Fortunately DU is better then that and she will soon fade away.

There are a few of them here on both sides who are having a wonderful time trying to get the different candidates supporters to hate each other. I know most of DU is too smart to fall for the BS.

26. The issue isnt "reacting" but how you react. Not reacting to this is scary.
For example,

I think it would be a mistake to fall prey to the race baiting by insisting that Hillary is "racist" or whatever. I do not think that's the case, although they are engaging in race baiting campaigning (which is racist in a more structural sense).

But just ignoring this and the implications is WORSE.

Are you from the Obama campaign?
That sounds pretty sexist to me. Jock straps are genital oriented and used mainly in contact sports,
also the mental imagery you are are creating by that language is quite phallocentric.

21. I only hope that common sense prevails...
Hillary the warmonger and sold-out corporatist who is clearly in bed with the neocons--may
be able to fool some people as she campaigns with her new-and-improved personality and forced
smiles.

That's sad.

I saw her campaign up close and personal, in Iowa. She blazed into this state with her sense
of entitlement. She planted questions at events, lied about it, and then accused an Iowan
of being a plant--just because she didn't want to explain her Kyl/Lieberman vote.

The woman cannot defend that horrendous vote, so she attacks Americans who dare broach the
subject. Her answer, "I was hoping it would help foster diplomacy" holds no water. She
knows it.

Hillary was so arrogant in Iowa. She was closed off and refused to answer questions from
Iowans or the media.

She changed her modus operandi when she realized that her "inevitability" was no longer and that
being herself just didn't work.

Now, she's playing Rebecca of Sunnybrooke farm---as she skips across the country.

Hillary's policies, her arrogance and her fakery are sickening.

If it's true that voters gave her the sympathy vote in NH--I hope to God the Democrats come back to their
senses and vote for an authentic candidate--who doesn't have to develop new personalities as a campaign
strategy.

I haven't seen any signs of disrespect. This is a campaign, campaigns required a certain amount of fight among the candidates. Hillary is fighting for a job she thinks she is qualified for and she wants. Obama is doing the same. Maybe you have not paid attention to that many presidential campaigns but what is going on is not to be unexpected, nor is it a sign of disrespect by any of the candidates. Please don't let the talking heads on TV convince you of things that are untrue. I have been watching the candidates (all of them because I have not yet decided who to support) and have to say that I have not seen any sign that Hillary does not respect Obama. I believe Hillary thinks that Obama is not yet ready for the top-man position, but that doesn't mean she doesn't respect him. So please, just breathe, and come to your own conclusions, not those of the bias talking-heads.

:hi:

Some of the times ive tried to make certain points, i've BACKED IT UP WITH THE RECORD and facts.

You will pretend im SPAMMING by simply continuing to show some of the facts. You call that "spamming" but i call it keeping the dialog grounded in specifics.

I guess you delete posts whenever they repeatedly link to the facts?
