They are politicians. They say and do nuanced things that can help them win some support but that might hurt them as well.

Can we agree on that, at least? Please, tell me we all can.

We've had an influx of really ugly instigators.

3. Furthermore, what their supporters say is not necessarily reflective of the candidates themselves.
We seem to sit around with baited breath waiting to pounce on every word one of their supporters says. What their supporters say is largely irrelevant.

We even manage to generate huge arguments based on "anonymous" sources.

And, don't get me started on the use of Drudge, Hannity, Rove, Rush, Novak, et al, as sources.

12. Thanks, baby doc.
:hi:

Housing market looking any better down there?

Those houses on my dad's street are all *still* for sale, even the ones that were supposed to auction in the fall. At this point, I'm thinking if I cracked open the piggy bank and maybe ebayed a few action figures, I could buy one, but if I wait a few more months I could probably keep the figs.

housing market is in total shit unless---you're buying. I think it's going to drop some
more because there are many more mortgages getting ready to reset. You should check out some auctions because this is a buyers market for sure.

My Dad is making noises about moving and renting out his place. He's keeping an eye out in Land Park, mostly. Which is good for him, because that's a hell of a step up, neighborhood-wise (I just earwormed myself with the theme to the Jeffersons, damn it,) but bad for me because I'll likely get stuck managing the rental of the old place, and I thought I was out of that business.

11. Agree. Sometimes, the intense media scrutiny and spin can really make mountains out of molehills...
...and innocent remarks into wildly inflammatory stories. The media need to sensationalise every little thing to get people's attention. 'Tis the nature of the beast.

So I would suggest that people first take a step back before swallowing anything one sees/reads in the media today, look at it with more skepticism, before reacting to it in knee-jerk fashion.

13. I can agree on the first two. I'm still working on the third.
Although I prefer to put it as I personally don't trust him, and leave it at that. Since 98% of people don't trust 98% of politicians, he has plenty of company.

I think all of our candidates are basically good and able people. I may not agree with everything they say, but I feel safe in guranteeing that any one of them will be light years above the current WH occupant.

22. Er... But Edwards *is* a phony.
Made millions from a hedge fund that foreclosed on NOLA homes and engaged in predatory practices, but never spent a cent of that to actually help the poor, yet claims he is a champion of the poor.
Plus there's the problem of his Senate record versus what he says now.

He's a phony. He'll say anything to get elected.

We have no clue where he really stands on virtually every issue.

23. as opposed to hillary who has no stands.
Except of course the stands that Walmart, Tata, AIPAC, ACcenture, Big Insurance and Big Pharma say she can have.
She's the biggest phony in this whole election.

If she wins, then this country is irretrievably fucked and this country will go the way of the Soviet Union.
