Are Superdelegates Anti-Democratic?
Just the thought of a large swath of delegates that aren't voted on...aren't represented by anybody but themselves...sends shivers down my spine. The simple fact that they exist proves someone like Kucinich would NEVER get the nomination even if he did win delegates himself because the Party would go against him and basically reject the will of the people. Superdelegates seem to be a fail-safe against Liberals "getting out of control" so to speak. I don't think Libs represent as much of a majority in the Dem Party as some say anyway though. If they did, then I think John Edwards (a strong, but viable populist candidate) would have much more support than he currently does. It's not like John had no chance in hell or something.

for once the republican party is more democratic than the dems... something must change!!!! This is all because Geoge McGovern won the nomination and the powers that be couldn't handle that again?
