A Freep offers up "Ten Things You Need To Know About Huckabee"
I'm posting this without a link as a tip of the hat to folks on DU who get really, really pissed off about F.R. content being posted here. But I think you'll agree that this is GOOD STUFF, especially coming from RimJob Central.

Anyone who cannot continue living without knowing the source, simply go to FreepTown and search for the thread called "ONE THING I LIKE ABOUT HUCKABEE."

:patriot:

TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HUCKABEE:

1. Soft-on-crime Governor who went on a pardon/commutation spree
2. Pro-instate-tuition for illegal aliens and for other giveaways - his record on immigration stinks
3. Fiscal liberal Tax-and-spender as Governor
4. Dissembled about his record when challenged
5. Not a conservative, hurt conservatives in Ark.
6. Ethics issues, taking public money for private use
7. Flipflopper, on immigration, Cuba and other issues
8. An incompetent Jimmy Carteresque boob on foreign policy
9. Will get beaten easily by the Democrats
10. Is a nanny-stater supporter of smoking bans and enviro-wacko CO2 caps

2. There's a reason this list doesn't mention his positions
on reproductive rights or glbt issues.

3. It's as close to a guarantee of a Democratic P.O.T.U.S. in 2008 as we could ask for...
The Freeps really, really, really DO NOT LIKE Huckabee. They know that the Democratic candidate would beat him like a red-headed stepchild, and they voice this concern FREQUENTLY.

8. Be careful what you wish for.
I was talking to my mom on the phone today, and she was
expressing her frustration with the lack of inspiring candidates...
she figures she'll end up voting for Huckabee, just because he's
"a good Christian man".

And there are MILLIONS more out there just like her.

13. Of course, I'll be firing off a few eMails to bring me Mum up to speed on that scumbag Huckabee.
So that's one person who won't have any illusions about him
for much longer...

But how many other ordinary folks like me Mum have gotten
all their info from local TV, and think he's some sort of
beige, mild-mannered "good Christian man"?

MILLIONS, that's how many- the same millions who voted for
the little DictatorTot TWICE.

I gotta tell ya: ASSUMING that the next incumbent Prez will
be a Dem seems risky to me.
I'm not assuming it- I'm making contingency plans.

15. What if He Wins?
If Fuckabee gets the Repiglickin nomination, he automatically gets the support of every TV and radio station in the country and nearly all of the newspapers.

They won't be talking about what a fundie nutbar he is, they will play up the populist stuff (which would never actually be implemented).

That plus Diebold plus our not-all-that-appealiing candidates could be a recipe for disaster.

4. Freepers can count to ten now?
Last time I was over there they were still struggling with six.

12. If they stand in rows while wearing matching armbands, they're capable of counting to six million.
It's a fact. :(

7. I'm very interested in their "group opinion" of Huckabee.
It stuns and amazes me that he could have gotten this far, but he did it primarily with a boost from the evangelicals. There's no love lost for him on F.R....

6. The Repug leadership DOES NOT want Huckabee to get the nom
They'd suddenly have to pony up on all the promises they've made to fundies to get their votes for the last 3 decades.

9. You're right, it's a fear-slash-concern they express over and over and over again
The sad fact, however, is that Fred Thompson remains their candidate of choice. That should tell everyone a little something about the GOP playing field in 2008.
