Anybody else get a bit depressed when they see Kerry?
He had so much to offer this country as president. He was a few thousand votes away from taking Ohio and winning the presidency. Instead we got Bush for 4 more years and his crook administration.

I admire his service as Senator and I am not trying to diminish his work there, but he had so much to offer this country as president. You can't help but get a little depressed every time you see him and realize that he could have been sterring this country in the right direction if he was in office.

7. I am pleased with this endorsement too
And this is nothing against Obama, but I would have prefered for this election to be Kerry running for re-election.

23. me, too, on both counts
I'd just add, though, that I think that the timing and context of Kerry's endorsement is perfect, and I suspect that Kerry will be delighted to be out there in the fray again.

6. not a day goes by when I don't think about how much difference his
presidency would have made to our country. But I am reassured by the fact that he's still out there, fighting to take our country back.

12. He has worked tirelessly
On every issue that he campaigned on. He's exactly who he presented himself to be, there's no way anybody could be let down by him if they were paying attention to what he's been fighting for. People ought to know by now there was no reason to be doing any "nose holding" when voting for him.

Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 10:04 AM by cmaff05
We went up against a guy with a 50% approval rating. We went up against the GOP attack machine and we lost. There is nothing to be ashamed of from Kerry's point of view. He wins Ohio and he wins the presidency.

16. both happy and sad
I like Kerry. He could have been an excellent president. I got to shake his hand in Tucson 4 years ago and he signed my hat. I am proud to say that I voted for him when he ran against the worst president in American history. I know that because of that vote, I will never have the shame of about half of our country who supported that other idiot. I have a soft spot for Kerry and the hope he and John Edwards gave me in those days.

But then, at the same time, knowing that none of it came to fruition is hard to deal with. These last few years have been bad for me. Having a shitheel in the WH just makes it even worse. So when I see Kerry, I see something that never came to be. And that is hard. And sometimes it still hurts.

and Kerry remains indefinitely maligned and 'swift-boated.'

I still wonder what happened behind the scenes to take the fight out of this "fighter"... He soldiers on and I have respect for him, but I am saddened when I see him at what could have been....

25. Yeah, it's sad. He was so close and to think where we are now.
But I guess everything has a reason. Now we have three great candidates to chose from, if Kerry was in the WH we may not have had this opportunity.

It still makes me sad. Almost as sad as when I see Al Gore.

also a true liberal.
