It is simply disgusting to me. I have my opinions about it and I have posted....wish I had not!
Enough is Enough of this kind of disrespect for a very powerful and influential fellow Democrat! :grr:

1. it's interesting
had Obama become emotional in a speech, it would have been considered real and heartfelt. Connecting with the audience on an emotional level and showing he was "one of them".

If Hillary becomes emotional ... well, period. If she becomes emotional regardless of the circumstance, it's considered weak and embarrassing and so on and so forth.

3. Hillary didn't cry. I saw the whole clip on TV and there's no crying.
She seemed to be tired, you could hear it in her voice. And yes, she was a bit emotional, but she didn't break down, and she didn't cry.

All of the candidates are no doubt tired and stressed at this point. Who wouldn't be?

4. Funny how Edwards and Hillary had very similar "moments", yet they're being interpreted
as complete opposites.

10. well, not funny Ha Ha
more funny as in wondering how they hypocritically twist themselves into such tight pretzels without breaking anything important.

I guess a new DU Rule is Hillary "crying" = bad, weak, she should drop out, not leadership material; Edwards or Obama "crying" = inspirational, one of us, real, sincere, strong, Presidential

I'm notating my DU Rule Book right now as we speak.

14. True. Funny like sarcastic laughter.
Yeah, the hypocrisy is certainly flowing freely on DU of late. I am often amazed at the criticism of a candidate by a supporter whose candidate has done either exactly the same thing or something very similar.

Edwards supporters criticizing Hillary for her vote on the IWR, for example. I'm not convinced, as some people apparently are, that an apology makes much difference. The actions were the same.

Send me a copy of that Rule Book when you're done, will ya? Hehe....

15. at this point
I'll need to get a special Freight Rate to ship it out. Probably by barge and in several large crates. You got a free month or two to flip through it?

And, yes, my favorite hypocrisy of late was the Obama Supporters calling Hillary sleazy when she compared Obama to Bush yesterday when Obama had compared Hillary to Bush on ... wait for it ... you ready?

January 4, 2008.

The deafening sound of crickets ensued when I posted that little factoid with the appropriate link.

16. Yeah, that one was rather bizarre.
Either people aren't paying any attention to their candidates (and knee-jerking) or they're being intentionally hypocritical.

Nice choice, eh?

19. I answered that claim of hypocrisy...
I said Hillary WAS acting like Bush by fear-mongering, using terrorism as a scare tactic to vote for her. Hillary was wrong to compare Obama to Bush since Obama, unlike Bush, has good judgement, is intelligent, and inspiring-not just a "friendly-seeming guy that you want to have a beer with."

5. Welllllll, no. It's an opinion.
Personally, I can't see where she cried at all (and I really dislike her), but people are still entitled to have opinions.

Stating those opinions doesn't make them right-wing hacks.

6. She wasn't crying dammit!
She just looked tired and a bit frustrated. She was in control the entire time and she fooled you quite well. Choking up while she attempts to smash her opposition.....please. Don't piss on my shoe and tell me it's raining.

9. My Husband And I Think It's Unfair
and we don't even really like Hillary Clinton!

Still, it seems she can't win. When she's strong, she gets accused of being heartless. When she has an emotional moment, it's because she's a woman and they question her leadership abilities.

She does sound like she's crying and that comes across as weak to many people. But it also really helps me empathize with her - I can appreciate her frustration. She's not whining that people don't like her or anything selfish, it really sounds like she wants to make the country a better place and is upset that her message isn't getting across. She's probably tired too and wasn't modulating her voice as well as she usually does.

No, a man is less likely than a woman to show his weakness by crying. But that doesn't mean men don't have weaknesses, or that they don't show in other ways.
