Push For "Uncommitted" Vote in Michigan Primary (democratic ballot)
Michigan's primary is now just days away and with Hillary Clinton the only major candidate on the democratic ballot, you'd think she'd be guaranteed an easy win. Thanks to a quirk in Michigan's law and a grassroots push, she's facing a new challenge from an unusual opponent called "uncommitted." Georg Shuttler is logging on to his favorite social networking site, not for a chat with friends but for a purpose.

Georg Shuttler, grassroots organizer: "This is a way that those of us who want change, who want to new day in American politics, can have our voices heard."

Like many democrats in the state, Shuttler was frustrated when all but one of the major candidates took their names off Michigan's ballot. Now he's helping lead the charge to do something about it.

--
It's all part of a grassroots effort to get Michigan voters to choose "uncommitted," the only way to show support for candidates whose names aren't on the ballot.

--
And Shuttler's not alone, nearly 200 people have joined his online group supporting the "uncommitted" vote and websites and supporters of John Edwards and Barack Obama are calling on voters to do likewise, hoping that come January 15th, enough Michigan voters will commit to being "uncommitted."

4. GO DENNIS!!
I don't think the states should be counted, if they broke the rules, and most of the candidates have dropped out. But if The Clintons and the DLC are planning on strong-arming them into the convention, then bring them their worst nightmare....

13. I agree.
But only because Hillary's camp encouraging them to break the rules, and assisting them by keeping her name in, for her own gain, was so despicable and low class in the first place.

But Michigan is still a state of the Union. A compromise, I believe, must be made so that the citizens of Michigan's voices are heard. I like 'uncommitted'.......... except that it isn't true!

Everyone should have a voice, to name their candidate of choice, as it should have been all along. Perhaps an emergency real caucus can be held after Super Tuesday?

5. And Michigan matters why?
No delegates, no interest. They screwed themselves out of any role in the primary.

9. Oh Michigan will get their delegates seated alright. This state has to many electoral votes and
has voted for the DEM nominee in the past several elections.

It wouldn't be wise to kick this state in the teeth over some petty 'party rules'. We will be needed come November.

14. Michigan matters because their citizens were screwed.
Did the citizens of Michigan choose this course? or those who thought they were going to get over and gain party influence by breaking the rules?

They willing screwed their citizens chance to have a voice. That's wrong. 'Uncommitted' is nice, but it's just not true, and that's going to skew some things psychologically I believe.

I wish there was a better solution.
