NH Voters: Iowa Results Won't Affect Choice
CONCORD, N.H. -- Many New Hampshire voters said that the results of the Iowa caucuses will not affect their votes on Tuesday.

Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mike Huckabee came out on top of the Iowa caucuses, but many New Hampshire voters who are undecided or who had already chosen a candidate said Friday that the choices made in Iowa won't affect their picks.

Voters Christine Kuhlman and Kaye Terpstra said they decided weeks ago to support Hillary Clinton.

2. I hope not,
do you know if NH is an open primary, or just for registered Democrats?

5. True in a sense

Most voters won't change their vote. But some will do, and the overwhelming majority of those will move towards Obama/Away from Clinton. Even if only 10% of voters change their mind, it could dramatically affect the outcome of the primary.

8. Nor will it effect mine
What a bunch of white people in two of the smallest states in the union think is not particularly important to me.

10. Experience tells me that voters want to go with perceived winners.
Iowa will or does make a difference. NH will go for Obama but the question is: how big?

11. a substantial percentage
of NH voters haven't yet made up their minds about who to vote for.

Mike Huckabee won't win the GOP primary. Evangelical Christians don't play so well here.

The top 3 are pretty well tied.

Clinton has the support of most of the NH Democratic Party machine.

Obama has a lot of support, including our 2 Congresscritters.

Edwards has a lot of support - and a lot of the Dodd supporters have moved into the Edwards camp.

wild cards:

Richardson will do better in NH than he did in Iowa.

Kucinich - anyone's guess.

It is certain that NH voters are bitterly resentful of the assumption that we will mirror Iowa's vote.

Anything can happen.

13. It's BS.
Look at the Rasmussen poll somebody just posted. The Republicans might go a different way, but it seems the Democratic primary is practically decided in Iowa.

Nothing against Obama -- I'm happy if he gets the nom -- but I'd like to see a real contest for a change.

14. Dissing the report of NH's WMUR?
Did Rasmussen poll ask "will Iowa affect your choice?"

18. People also insist negative campaigning doesn't affect them.
But it does, every time.

Unless Rasmussen is WAY off, a significant percentage in NH is once again going, "What Iowa said."
