I think Hillary will be a fabulous candidate in 2016
Obama may not pick a VP that will run on his/her own, kinda like Cheney, so that'll give Hillary another shot at it. I really think she'll be ready in 2016. She'll be more seasoned as far as her speeches. She'll probably have better political instincts. And she probably won't have anymore war votes that come back to haunt her. She'll run the next campaign making the right decisions. I would definitely say that she will be top candidate in 8 years.

3. McCain is running and he's old as dirt
And he's doing well. Being 69 shouldn't be a deterrent to Hillary. There's nothing wrong with older women.

7. I agree, nothing wrong with older women, but I think the Democratic Party is different than the GOP.

We typically get behind a candidate who is idealistic and offers hope. A candidate that can energize and I'm not sure a near-70 Clinton can do that. It's nothing about her sex, because I'd say the same thing about any candidate. It's about enthusiasm and idealism. Hard for someone that age to offer that.

2. And Obama will be out of diapers by then!
So he won't have quite the appeal to his supporters, and therefore won't be able to endorse an opponent to her....:)

8. Hillary won't be able to run for a third term in 2016
Obama won't have any chance by then, being little more than a pale memory at that point. A flash in the pan like some one-hit-wonder from a decade ago that you listen to for a couple of bars then change the station.

Obama supporters will probably still be the vacuous smart-asses that they are today, having grown little if at all.

9. 2016 is out of the question
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 05:25 AM by Herman Munster
If we nominate Obama and he loses, 2012 is a possibility. The democrats may have tired of their experiment with change and go to the known quantity.
