Biden and Edwards have tasted adversity...
Don't ever think that either of them is soft or not up to the job of the Presidency. Joe Biden lost his wife and family in an accident. That would have broken many of a man. But he endured. He deserves all our admiration for the courage he has exhibited.

John Edwards and Elizabeth lost their only son - at the time- to an accident. It was devastating for both of them. They endured. They were blessed with another son. Then Elizabeth was diagnosed with cancer. Both of them have exhibited great courage and toughness in the face of adversity.

4. True.
But it takes a strong person to overcome such tragedy in the manner that these gentlemen have done, in my opinion.

3. I lost my beautiful daughter in '93 at age 23. There are two ways
one goes. You allow yourself into that dark, dark place....OR, you put down the alcohol, (for me anyway) and realize there is nothing you can change. After you come to grips with the fact that you cannot change a tragedy, you slowly, step by step, get back on board with life. I know what these people have been through, they made the right choice..

6. Biden also had two brain aneuysms right after the drunk driver
killed his wife and baby daughter as well. Someone wrote that when something like this happens, you either put down the bottle (figurative in both their cases) and you push forward. I heard Biden talk about this the other day, I haven't heard Edwards speak on the loss of their son. I feel deeply for both of these men, and I admire them both very much.
