I Have This Feeling Today That We Are On The Brink Of A Historical .....
journey in the U.S. I believe that the Iowa vote will be historical and usher in a new era in this country.

It will be historical because the turnout will be the most ever. We have GWB to thank for getting the people out to vote. We have had enough. We can see right through the lies and won't tolerate new ones.

It will be historical because either a woman or a black will emerge from Iowa and go on to captivate the rest of the nation - each in their own right energizing their supporters to get involved in the election process.

I believe that in the general election the Repugs will get beat by the biggest margin ever again thanks to *Co and the fact that they don't have a single sole in the race that could measure up to even the weakest of the Dem candidates. We can see right through their facades.

I also believe that we will have a very viable Independent Candidate in the general election that will add to the historical aspect of the 2008 general election for President. Given the way *Co shredded the Constitution and set this country behind on a global basis in just about everything he touched. Given the unchallenged support he had by his Repug majority congress until 2006. Given the way the Dems squandered away the opportunity to end the war by either impeaching * and Cheney or not funding the war - which in essence made them tacet supporters of *Co and the war - I think that the Independent Candidate - for the first time ever will have a real chance at beating the two-party system and winning the presidency.

Oh Yes - The Making of A President 2008 is going to be an interesting read.

Can't wait to see how this plays out.

1. It's the beginning of the end for this administration.
Although they belong in the Hague, seeing an end to this nightmare finally is what will excavate hope. America has been upside down in a ditch on fire, but things are about to change. I'm so ready.

2. Why won't a progressive populist who represents the people emerge from Iowa? Why do you dismiss
Edwards, whose win would be very bit as signifigant. You are right that this is a historical event. As Edwards says , Iowa can be the beginning of our "rising up " and taking back out power from the corporate entity. That is enough for me.John Edwards for President. His color and gender is not what this election is about. This election is about the people versus the corporations.

7. Amen!
Edwards has a messge that is reaching out to everyone. Only "corporate America" doesn't want to hear it! The people of this country need change, and the one that can give them that change is John Edwards!

And I agree with you, this election is not about race or gender, it's about getting the righ person into the Whitehouse, one that will work for the people not the "corporations"!

A vote for Edward is a vote for "REAL" change!

6. I'm really excited to see the total numbers - specifically, the number
of people who decide to caucus for Democrats vs. the number of people caucusing for the Republicans. This might be a indicator of how things may go in the GE, given Iowa's status a major swing state (razor-thin margins in '00 and '04)...

8. It will be historical.. not because of racism or sexism, but because there is a FEVER to turn out
the corporate thugs!!

Until that happens, all the women and people of color won't have ANY effect.

More of the same.

10. I Didn't Mean To Imply Racism Or Sexism In My Original Comments - Only That......
first it is historical that we have both a woman and black as such viable candidates and second that we've broken the age old barriers that have prevented this from happening until this moment. I say that this is progress for us as a nation and global power.

12. Voting for a candidate ONLY because she is female is sexist. Same with race.
And that's what we keep hearing.

Given your view, I think you may be in for a big surprise tomorrow!
