Obama's campaign just sent out an email saying he is way up in the latest IA poll
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 01:41 AM by proud2Blib
A few minutes ago, the Des Moines Register released its final poll of Iowa Democrats ahead of Thursday's caucuses.

The headline: 'Obama widens lead over Clinton.'

Here are the numbers:

Barack Obama 32%
Hillary Clinton 25%
John Edwards 24%

The details get even better. Here are a couple of quotes from the accompanying article in tomorrow morning's paper:

"The findings mark the largest lead of any of the Democratic candidates in the Register's poll all year, underscoring what has been a hard-fought battle among the three well-organized Iowa frontrunners."

"Obama's rise is the result in part of a dramatic influx of first-time caucusgoers, including a sizable bloc of political independents. Both groups prefer the Illinois senator...."

The momentum is ours in Iowa and across the country.

1. I don't know if he'll win by that much...
but I think he'll still win.

2. I think he is getting a little ahead of himself.
The breakdown of that poll is worrisome. A lot of his support seems very soft. I hope it turns out true but I wouldn't be counting my cookies just yet.

12. Why assume soft? Perhaps Obama has attracted new faces to the caucuses
It is plausible. his is a more positive message...it is even skoffed at as too nice by the old way of negative campaigning. If Obama does attract more people into the democratic caucuses that is not only good for him, it is great for our party! We should all be applauding that. But some of the other supporters evedently are hoping new people are not going to participate in the democratic causes.

4. Remember the non-stop whining by obamanites
every time a Hillary-advantage poll was mentioned by a supporter? Remember the 'vitriolic hatred' that it represented by 'vicious attackers' from the Clinton side?

Never has Hillary ever touted her lead in any poll. But here's Obama, preening about a poll going his way.

At least we get to see who does what hypocrisy. And again, as ever, it's Obama.

It's like obamanites can't do anything that isn't two-faced in the extreme.

5. "Way ahead in latest IA polls....."? Polls - plural? I don't think so.
Way ahead in the Des Moines IA Register poll - by 7%.

Way behind in the InsiderAdvantage IA polls issued today by 8%.

7. The question is: Is it true that Obama's campaign said "polls"?
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 01:10 AM by antiimperialist
I don't see the word "polls" anywhere but in the headline created by our fellow DU'er.
Maybe he made a spelling mistake.

13. I don't think it will happen, but I dread an Obama nomination because
I don't think he can win.

The USA is not ready for a black prez. He's also very young and inexperienced.

16. How do any of us know what the US is ready for?
And Bill Clinton was 46 when elected IIRC. Their experience is similar.

What's with the dread? Will your vote count prior to the general?

18. The Kennedys were young and inexperienced...
...and look at ol' George Bush.

He had MANY years experience as a successful governor of a big state.

Look what that got us!

Seven years of being reamed up the <censored>!
