Just as our political opponents are not "Conservatives," they are "Regressives."

These words make sense to me, and make more grammatical sense in general. Liberal and Conservative do not make sense to me at all, therefore I do not call myself a Liberal.

And yes, for the most part I do fit Kennedy's definition.

6. I'm a liberal who supports one of the other candidates.

I wanted Gore, or Kerry, or Clark first - but Bill Richardson's strong foreign policy knowledge and experience, his support of veterans, his promise to end the war in Iraq faster than the top three, and his strong record of support on human rights at home and abroad makes him my choice. But he's in the "second tier" and unless the voters in Iowa and New Hampshire do something extremely brave, he'll finish out of the running for the nomination. Also in the class of "others" are Joe Biden and Chris Dodd - fine Democrats who would do us proud as President. Of the media's selected top three, I see Edwards as a fraud, Obama as a pandering cheerleader, and only Clinton as a strong enough candidate to fight and win against the GOP. I'll vote Richardson in the Primary, and support whoever our nominee in the general.
