Obama claims endorsements that are not his

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Two black South Carolina ministers listed by Barack Obama's campaign as endorsing his White House bid say they did no such thing, and at least two others affirmed their support only after being contacted by campaign workers when questions were raised about their endorsements.

Earlier this month, Obama's campaign released a list of what it said were nearly 130 senior pastors in South Carolina endorsing his run for the Democratic nomination. But when contacted by The Associated Press, several ministers said they have yet to decide who will get their vote and were unclear how they ended up on the Illinois senator's list.

"I really haven't decided to endorse him yet. I was thinking about it," said the Rev. Clifford Gaymon of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in rural Clarendon County.

An Obama spokeswoman said the list was created after campaign organizers called ministers and asked to release their names publicly.

5. whether an honest mistake or not
stuff like this with a fledgling National Campaign -- should it become "big news" for some reason -- can sometimes be more than it should be, giving the Voters a misrepresentation of who the Candidate is and what the Candidate will do to get elected. It should be dealt with effectively now since it wasn't prevented adequately in the first place. I wonder how Hillary handled it?

10. Oh gee oh me...if Obama and his Heavenly chorus
screw up, whether on purpose or not, it is a tiny tiny mistake. But if someone in Hillary's campaign does something, hell the American Idolers jump all over HER...LIKE IT WAS HER FAULT.

11. I know, I know
but Obama's new to National Politics and the National Spotlight, so I'm sure the media and the repugs will give him a break and be nice to him for whatever mistakes or misstatements he makes, you know?

do I really need to add a :sarcasm: thingy here?

12. It won't be a big story for anybody
Some reporter will make a list of all the campaigns in history to which this happened and that will be the end of it. Not to worry.

15. "it happened to Clinton, too." - Is that the unofficial slogan of the Obama campaign?

6. Aren't you over that yet?
It's very minor, you know. Do you really think it matters what a candidate's actions are concerning basic human rights? What are you, some kind of, uh... liberal?

8. And he shot 3 pointers in HS and read Look magazine article
Add this to the list of growing exaggerations and misstatements -- like he dunked in high school once after he was really hot shooting 3-pointers, except there was no such thing as a 3-pointer then OR like he read an article in Look or Life when he was 9 about a black man wanting to look white and that was his racial awakening when there was no such article in any magazine anyone can find, but an awakening as a grown man did not seem to mesh with his life story, so a "harmless" story about an imaginary article might work. Only exaggerations and misstatements don't work.
Freshman mistakes that we can't afford.

9. It's a bit Romneyesque, isn't it?
And it fits exactly what many find disturbing about him: there's no real core there, just a lot of ambition. Which is why he's so able and willing to throw entire constituencies under the bus in a naked grasp at votes.

18. For all of three seconds attention
in maybe six newspapers? Got to be pretty desperate for that, and I don't think that's the case. What gave you that impression, to think they're the ones at fault?
